So, something I’ve always thought but haven’t really had the chance to mention in conversation, is how I’ve always thought that Lily and Sabah just… aren’t Undersiders?? Like, sure, they join and stuff, but they aren’t in it for the love of the game (sure by that point Taylor isn’t really either, but she was for a while).

Like, Lisa, Alec, Rachel, Aisha, Taylor and even Brian (before The Horror’s got him) all have some fun dynamics, each with their push and pull and problems withe achother.

And then there’s these two. Tweedle Dee and Tweele Dum aren’t here because they want to be, they’re here because they feel like they’re out of options (if my memory serves. If I’m wrong then blame the fact I read Worm 2~ years ago and we didn’t get to see them much).

Add to the fact that they stay off to the side hand in hand and it feels a lot more like they’re hanger-ons?? Which sucks, obvsly; we could’ve had some actual interesting stuff with two POC Lesbians living in Brcokton Fucking Bay of all places, maybe drag Taylor out of the closest if John C. Straightman wasn’t firmly shoving her back in every five minutes.

Let me know if any of yall have thoughts to add, or reasons why you disagree! I’m just interested in what other people think, cause to me theres always just going to be six Undersiders.

Anyway, I’ve been thinking of doing a ‘fic of the week’ type thing since I have a really big library of fics and wanna share anything I’ve found thats really good and deserves a read, lmk if theres interest in that!

I really love how the third Lisa turned out — it felt easy and somehow fresh for me. Regent is always a pleasure to draw, but the others made me suffer a little 🙈 I’m also really happy with the dogs and the bugs ❤️

there was this super cute trend going around on tiktok a little while ago where ppl would assign fragrance notes to characters from their fav shows/movies/books etc ….. so here is my humble attempt at the eau d’undersiders :-) this is less what i think they would realistically smell like if u were standing in their proximity & more an abstract representation of their psyches if they were bottled into perfumes.

I have some gay headcanons for the Undersiders that I may or may not eventually use.

Brian: is a trans man. Literally nobody outside the team knows. He wears a strap that’s a perfect match for his skin tone 24/7. He’s had sex with people before but somehow they are still unaware he’s trans. How he accomplished this is unclear.

Taylor: Trans woman. Dysphoria about her figure which is why she loves her hair so much. The most whimpery bottom to ever exist. Massive cock. Is confused why Emma doesn’t use her transness against her. (Emma straight up forgot she was trans bc Taylor decided she was a girl very young.)

Alec: the hedonist to end all hedonists. He has slept with everyone. Yes them. Them too. You call him out as a liar. He somehow has proof. He wears dresses but mostly bc he likes that he can get away with only wearing one item of clothing in public. He plays up the gay to rub it in the Empire’s face. He has multiple people convinced he’s different genders.

Rachel: does not know what gender is. Does not care. Calls herself butch bc someone mentioned butches don’t shower and she doesn’t like water. Owns several knotted dildos and no other sex toys. Has definitely had sex with some of her dogs. is Taylor’s go to for casual sex. She’s unclear what exactly “romance” is. Does not care. Pack is pack.

Lisa: absolute snuggle-fiend. Everyone has woken up at some point with her burrowed into them. Serial blanket thief. Smirks when people can’t find their bedding bc she knows she stole it and has used it to add to her bed-nest. One time she called in a favor for Amy to turn off her powers for a bit with the plan of slutting her way through the whole team, but she really just made out with Taylor for a bit and then curled up between Brian and Rachel and fell asleep. Alec teases her about this constantly.

Aisha: is mostly straight, but has slept with multiple women just so she can taunt the empire about “being shanked by a rugmuncher.” Is elated that people think Imp is a lesbian and has decided to flirt relentlessly with every single woman she can. Battery is getting tired of it, and assault has never laughed harder. Rune gets incredibly flustered to the point that PHO is suspecting she’s a closeted lesbian (true). Has decided to try her hardest to actually flip rune via flirting (it’s not *not* working…).

If you disagree with any of this, cool, this is my version of them. Suggestions welcome.

So. We can all agree that if Alec was a master 8 he’d be saying “I just master 8’d” or “You just got master 8’d” all the time right……….

Okay. Okay so, like, I’ve been batting around worm ideas in my head for a Bit now and I’m utterly blown back by the fact that I’ve seen nobody else here talk about if Sabah/Parian and Accord worked on the same team they’d probably be on Really good terms. Like. Near besties IMO.

They’re both capes who have a start outside of typical Hero/Villain bounds working with their powers, get into villainy for Other people (Partially at least for Accord-), both are pretty into fashion to the point I can picture them gabbing about it whenever they’ve got time in the same place (Accord literally tried to dress the Travelers seemingly for his own comfort more than as a favor-), and both seem like a slight breath of fresh air for each other. And like. I can picture Parian being able to like a guy who’s VIOLENTLY Asexual.

I can picture him helping her run her clothes business with money laundering and getting materials set up in Earth Gimel for clothes manufacturing. Maybe even asking for her assistance/hand in the creation of villain costumes. Definitely finding comfort in her work/creations. Also having Tea. Also talking about how rude and Crazy other villains are around them. Also Citrine and Foil both having to awkwardly get along as their Main People are talking it out.

Rachel: I didn’t miss that social cue. I just thought it was stupid. 

Blake meets each Undersider (ranked roughly by how well they would get along/how little Blake suffers)

Disclaimer: I defer to the experts overall but I have thoughts and opinions.

Taylor:

• Vindicated that an adult actually acknowledges she was bullied. He’d probably sympathize w/her that it’s a lot easier when you’re being beaten up than when it’s psychological warfare. at the same time, I feel like he wouldn’t push for revenge so much as validate her desire to get away from it and move on, and it does reassure Taylor that there’s an adult who’s telling her she’s doing the right thing
• He tries manipulating her one time into something minor and she responds with Taylor-Typical levels of ‘taylor will never ask you to do something she wouldn’t do herself’ manipulation and sweeps him away
• Controversial take. I think Blake could convince Taylor that drugs can be ok. He talks about being homeless, and how people with untreated physical and mental illness turn to drugs to cope, and somehow manages to click the little gears together. She’s still gonna be weird about ppl who use coke/meth/more heavy drugs or who chose drugs and are in a medically/financially good position, but she’s also making a part of her territory that there’s a safe access center for stoners and ppl who are treating pain or hallucinations w/drugs and that’s kinda the best we can get from her for now.

Brian:

• Ppl have already talked about how Brian’s issues w/toxic masculinity would be at least partly fixed by talking to Blake and it’s all correct
• I think Blake could trigger if Brian told him his full backstory (he will not talk about it honestly ever but I still think this)
• They should talk about motorcycles together. Brian has a good time and is happy and gets to just be excited about non-Cape things for once.

Aisha, Alec, and Aisha&Alec (they are a set, do not separate):

• Again, Blake’s thing on respecting kids and teens as ppl mean Aisha is feeling so so fucking vindicated when Blake asks her actual questions about her dress style, what she’s up to, etc etc
• Bonding over being forgotten by everyone but I also think it’d be kinda cool if he can sorta remember her bc his mind’s been changed a little too much post-Ur and he knows logically she should be there when she’s 'disappeared’ even if he can’t properly remember her
• He and Alec meet and there’s an immediate and distinct understanding between them both as people who fled an abusive and manipulative family (obv on diff levels but still) and are trying to be better. They are both so fucking awkward about it however
• Alec’s art vs Blake wishing he had the ability to do art. I think there’d at least be discussion of letting Alec take control of Blake so Blake can at least sorta 'create’ something, really not sure if he’d go for it or not
• Blake is given vaguely Aisha-type status in terms of relation, but as Alec’s 'brother’. They torment him for fun but they also keep some boundaries on the level of 'if we touch him, Blake will leave and then we can’t torment him so no touchy’
• feat!Heartbroken: Collective 'sorta older sibling’ figure they’re allowed to terrorize within reason. All of them have varying issues w/manipulation, physical touch, sex, etc etc and Blake’s one of the very few people who gets it right off the bat. He is still getting tortured by all of them however. He is environmentally enriched by this experience

Rachel:

• I don’t think they’d get along or that he’d fully understand Rachel’s deal, but Blake respects her basic boundaries and in her head he’s neither a threat nor part of her group so eh.
• He will repeatedly correct everyone who tries to call her 'Hellhound’. “You mean Bitch”
• Rachel tells him one time to shut up because small talk is stupid and he shuts up and doesn’t try again except to sincerely ask how her dogs are doing.
• During fights dogs remind him of Pauz and he’s not gonna be feeling great around the messes of dogs and doggy-transformation, but he also knows better than to say anything out loud

Lisa:

• This one is bad for everyone involved
• No
• I cannot picture this ending even remotely well unless one of them exits the room within 20 seconds.

Varying little bonuses:

• Cherie: She tries to hit Blake w/the 'KYS NOW’ beam but this is the sort of thing he’s had done to him a hundred times so even though he’s screaming crying throwing up on the inside, he just looks zoned out and it fucks w/her for a good 2 weeks.
• Defiant: Defiant is a cop. Blake Thorburn is best known for being annoying to cops. We can all do the math.
• Lung: That one post about how Lung needs to employ a guy to fight before he goes into any real battles so he’s already partially transformed. This is not Blake’s optimal or happiest or healthiest environment, but it is the most natural one for him to suffer in. They fight and Lung goes off to do his shit and someone from ABB just tosses a stack of cash onto Blake’s collapsed and hollow torso.
• E88: 'Luigi fights fascism w/the power of love Chapter 2: the power of incredible violence’. Evan gets to set Nazi buildings on fire. Evan is happy. Blake is happy. There is a clear target which cannot erase him from existence and should be getting their ass kicked. Life is good :)

Brian: Infrequently. He makes it a point not to say it that much, partially to set an example for Aisha, but does when needed.

Alec: Yes. A lot, but not anymore. Probably less upon joining the Undersiders, and pretty much stopped after becoming the world’s first platonic couple. As proven in the Behemoth fight though, he still makes racist jokes for shock value.

Lily: I feel like she’d have gotten/“given permission” once to say it and did(While a new york ward), and felt really bad after. Unsure about validity of this one
