#onthisday, back in 2015 I got my LA Trade Tech College ID. Enrolling at Trade Tech was the BEST life decision I have ever made. I remember I was determined to get an education in fashion design after painting the jumpsuit for Missy Elliott’s surprise guest appearance at the 2014 BET Awards. I enrolled at Trade Tech because I wanted to learn how to make clothes and thought it would be kinda easy… WRONG BITCH!! There was a lot a lot A-FUCKING-LOT of bumps in the road. The fashion program at LATTC IS NO JOKE!! It is fucking INTENSE!! I saw people drop like flies because they couldn’t handle it or changed majors. I myself went through some struggles, like being homeless almost 2 months, and at one point I almost gave up (DAMN YOU ADVANCED PATTERNS!!). That drive to complete it was reignited though when I was commisioned to do a dashiki for French Montana for the 2017 BET Awards (thank you @kingofhair for getting me that gig). Thats when I came back to my senses and knew I had to COMPLETE my education.
I made myself one promise at very beginning and that was NO RELATIONSHIPS!!! You don’t know how many guys that pissed off, HAHAHA!!! I put my education before “love” because my education was my relationship. I regret so much breaking that promise before my final semester by getting into one, that fucked up my gold thimble game. There was maybe 2 garments I was truly proud of, the rest I know for a fact I could have done better. Regardless, I GOT THE FRONT COVER of the California Apparel News, YASS BITCH!!! But most importantly, I completed the fashion program, which was one hell of an accomplishment. I couldn’t have done it without my family and friends cheering me on and believing in me. Most importantly, I couldn’t have done it without my drive and determination. Thank you 2015 Enzo for making that decision.
