a “you’ve lost your hopes” ship (fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…):

That ship that’s been canonically broken up for a while now but still you torture yourself with every little meager hint that canon might get them back (even if it’s just a clickbait article or a comment on reddit or sth, or a post on the series’s ig telling one half of your beloved ship’s actor will be guest starring). Even if you pretty much accepted they’re not getting back together… outside of fics

Me: I’m the fool. 9-1-1 keeps me hostage over BuckTommy (Tevan? Firefly? FireBeast? Kinley? What’s your preferred shipname? These two have some wild ones, but I love them 🤣) getting back together, to the point that every time I hear about a new episode and Tommy’s name together, I run to google it to see if he was actually part of the episode. And the wild thing is I stopped watching the show a while ago. Basically between the breakup, Nash’s death, and some rumours I’ve heard, I haven’t felt like watching at all, except when the hopes come up, I get fooled twice and go back to AO3 for some fic-therapy. What do I call this… shipbait?

What if Ravi’s comment about “Tommy’s choice” is because Buck tried to ask Tommy out recently?

But Tommy said no as he still thinks Buck doesn’t have feelings for him and only wants to get laid.

I keep coming back to the two (TWO!) mentions of Tommy in 9x07. There was no reason to mention Tommy at all for the GA, especially the way he was brought up - making it seem that Buck still has feelings for Tommy.

Buck’s certainly wouldn’t see needing to nurse Tommy back to health after a helicopter crash coming. And it would disrupt any love life plans, as he currently doesn’t see any possibility of getting back together with Tommy at this point.
