I’m gonna be completely honest, my initial pairing of them together was completely random. In fact, I thought of the pairing of them before I even started watching the show just from thinking of possible character dynamics, same with Slam x Audi, Danger x Rev, Tech x Audi, but Tech x Ace just kinda stuck the most because they’re so opposites attract, which is like, my thing in literally every single fandom I’m in. Like, predator x prey, extrovert x introvert, leader x follower, it’s just so perfect … & their green/yellow color scheme is sooo cute & just adds to the appeal for me.

I especially love their little interactions in the show, when Ace is always complimenting Tech’s inventions, when Tech calls Ace chief, when Ace challenges Tech’s technological prowess, & the things that literally nobody who isn’t me would care about, like Ace winking at Tech in The World is My Circus, Ace pulling Tech away from Sypher in Sypher, Ace’s voice softening when he’s talking to Tech in Stop The World, I Want To Get Off & Tech smiling at him right after, :((

Like, the thought of Tech being someone who could genuinely get Ace to behave vulnerably for once is just so precious to me, especially since that is my main issue with Ace’s character. I feel like they could compliment each other in general in a way that’s not TOO contrasting like some other ships… Like, Ace seems to actually understand Tech’s scientific lingo, but would just rather simplify it rather than theatricalize it, which is really silly & adds some cute banter for them.

I think the fact that they’re not popular in the slightest (I could literally only find three pieces of fanart of them ;-;) adds to why I like them so much. Because TechRev & AceLexi are both such overrated yawnfests to me (no offense to the shippers) I must uphold the AceTech agenda. Like, OMG, it’s so tiring to see the same type of ship art of nothing but the same two painfully boring ships (+ AceDanger sometimes, but AceDanger isn’t entirely THAT bad so) over & over again, ughhhhh.

Growing Up Online Reaction

The other day my class watched a video on PBS about teens who are growing up with the internet available to them.  The video gives a young person’s view on the ability to use the internet to search and find anything that they want and to be able to make new friends as well as communicate with old ones.  However, there was also a teacher that explained how with these new dodads and devices she didn’t want to be a teacher anymore because she was so used to the way that things were. I was not able to watch the entire program but from what I saw and heard I feel that I am in accord with the teens. I am fortunate enough to have been able to use the internet from the start of my middle school days and I believe that thanks to the internet I have truly had it easier than anyone who came along who didn’t have the internet.

I do have one gripe about the video and it has to do with that teacher that couldn’t adjust to the new age technology.  The internet is here to stay and even if a teacher may be used to teaching the old fashion way, in order to keep up with the times that teacher has to find a way to incorporate technology into the class, and must find a way to overcome the dreaded “copy” and “paste” as well as the websites that just give answers to homework questions.  Speaking of which, I feel that this may be the only problem with the internet when it comes to school work. A student can easily type in their questions on a search engine such as Google and with no problem find the answers without even trying to use their brains. At this point the internet is a huge hindrance, but the benefit of searching and researching from the internet overcomes this hindrance.

The video also gave insight on how some teens use the internet to make a persona so that they can have friends online, something that I had done in the past, and actually still have my alias. One of the saddest moments, however, in the video was the young man who killed himself because he was bullied both online and offline. Many teens face this today, but the way to overcome these bullies is to tell someone, no one can help unless you ask for it. What’s more is that if the people that are bullying you online are from the same school as you, then if you make someone aware of all that they are doing, someone can stop this person, or group of people, from their heinous actions.

My opinion on the entire video is that the internet can be your friend and your worst enemy. It is really up to you to figure out how you want to use it and how you will let it work in your life. I have been a child that grew up online and I used the internet for all the resources it was worth; the videos, the social media aspects, the help for homework, and the list goes on. It just all depends on who you are. The internet can be a best friend or a terrible enemy.

Online Experiences

From the day that I was allowed to first use the internet I was instantly drawn to social networks. Originally my parents had allowed me access so that I may play games online on websites like cartoonnetwork.com and nick.com. Back in the day they had many child friendly flash games based on the shows that were airing, however, there were also ads on the side of the webpages that would advertise social networking sites such as Habbo Hotel and Gaia online. At the meager age of 12 I had joined Habbo and began my social networking experiences.  I was able to create my avatar, a small character, that would be portraying me as I entered and exited different rooms that were in the hotel.  I had the best time while I was on this site. I learned how to type at a decent pace for an 12 year old, I learned about Role Playing, and my passion to write originated on this site. I met many different people from all over the world and it was amazing talking to them, people who had the same passions as I did. What’s more on this site I was able to truly allow my interests to flourish and learned more about the stories, anime, games, and T.V shows that I loved from talking to those in the same room as I was at the time. Sadly, things changed when I couldn’t access my account any more due to my email screwing up, so I ended up moving on to Gaia online. Another site much like Habbo that allows you to create an avatar and interact with people that are in the same location as you on the site’s world. Along with Gaia my friends had encouraged me to make a Facebook account. I would jump from one site to the other, talking with people from both websites and I enjoyed making the new friends and talking to the friends that I had known for a while. The entire time I was on these sites I learned so many new things about myself and about things I would have never even considered. Things like components that make up an anime, how to write stories and make the stories interesting, how to make characters relatable, and so much more.  I would spend hours upon hours on these social media websites enjoying all the time I could have with my friends. As the years began to dwindle on I slowly stopped using Gaia and Facebook, and began to start watching youtube videos religiously. YouTube had literally, and still is, become my television. I completely stopped watching television thanks to the fact that I could watch videos on youtube based on what I could like and what I was interested in. I was able to watch anime, video games, and cat videos. What’s more is thanks to youtube I joined a site called Twitter to keep updated on what my favorite YouTubers were doing and to actually contact them. Things don’t always go the way you want them to though, and I began to actually use Twitter for fun and to make friends. To make a long story short, I have had an excellent online experience and thanks to all the time I had spent on the internet from age 12-18 I have learned so much and have kindled many flames for my interests. I am extremely fortunate to have not run into any true issues based on my internet use.
