Well, it’s finally done. My map of Europe, inspired by on Super Mario World! It took a couple of months, had to take some breaks because some of the work was incredibly tedious. I’m really happy with the result. After making a map of Iceland and The Netherlands I couldn’t decide which country I wanted to do next, so I did them all.

**FAQ:**Q: How long did this take?
A: Don’t really know, but I’m guessing ~100 hours. Here’s a time lapse and making of of me making the map.
Q: How did you make this?
A: I used a pixel art tool called Aseprite.
Q: Did you place every pixel individually?
A: No. Things such as houses, trees and clouds were mostly copy pasted. Things like the little waves on the coastline were (painstakingly) drawn pixel by pixel. I also used the [outline] tool a lot. The land itself was drawn with a reference layer. Nothing is “generated”. Also did some post-processing with Gimp.

A: There is a green pipe in Ireland that leads to Iceland.
