How to study smart
You don’t have to rewrite/retype all of your lecture notes. Especially if you’re taking more than 5 content-heavy subjects.
What you can do to save your time:
1) edit your lecture notes (*my fav*)
2) flashcards (useful when you have no choice but to study last minute yet you still want to ace the exam)
3) summaries
4) mindmaps (Only include the main points. Use the lecture notes for the explanations.)
How do I edit my lecture notes?
Sometimes the lecturer loves to use up so much spaces by putting one point in one slide. 1) You could compile all of those separate points by taking screenshots, freehand crop them and paste the images on a single page. 2) Strike off the extra words that aren’t necessary. 3) Type a sentence as a replacement for that one long paragraph.
I do it this way bcs I like to condense my notes so that it looks shorter and it makes my brain think that I have lesser info to study.
I really regret wasting my time by rewriting/retyping my notes when I can spend more time to study and retain these info more. But if it’s a subject (eg. Biochemistry) that has lots of complex theories and explanations, then it is advisable to rewrite your notes.
Hope it helps! 🙌
P.S: I use Goodnotes to edit my notes.
