‘Ryu and his kid Kage’ ramblings
Thinking ab them and Kage’s def a rebellious mf, he probs gets into fistfights in school over some dumb shit that he either instigated or got ragebaited into.
He tries to come off hyper independent but he’s secretly daddy’s baby boy and goes to Ryu for help but like in that prideful kind of way where he doesn’t wanna feel embarrassed about explicitly asking for help, so he just hovers til Ryu gets the message
As a young kid was very proud about looking exactly like Ryu and you could tell, in his teens he’s embarrassed about that and decides to differentiate himself by growing his hair out, few years laterer he dgaf anymore about the resemblance so he cut it back to its usual length
Teeth grinder, needed braces early for his busted teeth (probs an underbite)
Ryu looked uncomfortable with him sometimes, as a kid he never understood why, as a teen he got moody (and sad) about it, young adult/adolescent Kage mellowed out and is more chill/understanding about it
He loves when they playfight, it looks like roughhousing to others but it’s an adequate amount of strength
Kage has the most fun when they actually fight (sparring yk), Ryu doesn’t go easy on him, but doesn’t overdo it either. Ryu recognizes his strength and that makes him really happy
Calls Ryu by his name most of the time, only calls him father (or anything adjacent) when distressed

Ryu was stressed as fuckkkkkkkkk when Kage was a toddler man, he’s fast despite his little legs and is always running off; he’s nearly ran into oncoming traffic way too many times
Thankfully he’s really clingy so unless he’s in unfamiliar territory he’s attached at Ryu’s hip, or off his back, or on his shoulders
HE KEEPS TRYING TO FIGHT PEOPLE BIGGER THAN HIM (at least up until his late teens); Ryu and his kid that he has to love sighhhh
He’ll always comfort him when he gets his ass beat tho, no matter how unnerving it is to see the manifestation of his murderous intent, with his face, hellbent on busting heads open; that’s his son
Fast crawler and big explorer as an infant, too many close calls where he almost fell over and cracked his skull open
He feels a strange fondness whenever Kage tries to help him cook, he makes a huge mess and whines about washing the dishes; he got better at cooking when he got older but still whines when it comes to dishes
He’s really happy about how chill Kage’s gotten over the years, he isn’t intentionally hostile anymore and is still easily embarrassed whenever Ryu babies him
he was at constant risk of high blood pressure cuz of this boy
Their favorite activities tgt are hiking, fighting, talking about fighting and cooking for others.
