Sitting at a coffee shop eating a croissant with a big belly after a short walk to get out of the house and thinking about how different my life is now. A part of me still misses the mental patient identity. I miss being locked away, only having to concern myself with continuing to breathe in and out. Anxiety still catches me at every turn - I haven’t felt Squish move in the last hour, what if that bump into the kitchen counter killed him, what if he comes out sick, what if he is born too early - but I don’t deal with it by slicing my thighs or smoking a joint and taking a nap. I just sit in it and think well if it happens, then it happens. It feels strange and uncomfortable and I miss being numb and high.
I wonder if I will ever stop missing the hospital.

I’m tired.
I’ve been having random bouts of nausea.
Moving my toes any way causes a cramp in my leg.
And now my eyelid is twitching.
Are all of these things unrelated? Can they all be explained away by different causes? Or is it my potassium again? I have an appointment on Tuesday, I’ll get blood drawn then and find out, I guess. 😰
In better news, I went out for coffee with Squish today. She’s doing so well! She has a boyfriend who’s not an asshole, she has a roommate to help pay for her house, and she’s about to go on a girls trip! 💕
Tomorrow I’m picking Cory up from his dad’s house so we can go to the rec center and go swimming together. Super stoked about that.
Also, Soba has been on my lap for like 4 hours tonight. I am not complaining.
