Playing Suiko V in honor of Suikoden’s 20th Birthday, which is an amazing game that everyone should play at least once *firm nod* (bonus: the music in SuikoV is the best)

Haswar: You know how she really likes the beavers, and how cute and fluffy they are? In a modern AU she’d go catatonic with happiness upon discovering there are Totoro plushies. 

Also, I have some vague notion that she has been romantically involved with the bald elf attendant of hers, but I forget if that came from hints in the game, or was contradicted by the game, or is independent of the game.

Lymsleia: Abolishes the Sacred Games because seriously, the last time they were held her parents got murdered and she was held hostage. The nobles don’t really like this, but they can’t really object given the circumstances. She winds up marrying a man from Armes (to the horror of many).

Sialeeds: Had a crush on Gizel back when they were bethrothed. Got over it as they both grew up, because even if he’s good-looking, he’s a self-centered ass. She got pretty fed up with him while she was working on the Godwin side, and if she’d survived the game, she’d have had a lot of caustic comments to make when he tried to pull his “hey prince, you and me are totally the same, our sides just wanted what was best for Falena, never mind the genocide” bullshit.

maybe i’m reading into sialeeds’s outfit too much, but that cuff and chain around her ankle has long communicated to me this idea of being symbolically bound. while politically free by comparison to some of her kin, she’s nonetheless tethered still by strong emotional obligations as a member of the royal family. she probably would have grown up with the idea that she was still in a position that made her own wants and needs secondary to those of the queendom. the fact that the other half of the dress is short could represent her more bold, carefree, natural side? she’s very much someone caught between two worlds- one of personal expression and gratification, and one of dedication to her country.

but YEAH anyway uhhh i’m awful at wording things and it could just as easily be that it just looked cool as heck when the artist conceived the design, who knows

Sialeeds Falenas - Suikoden V

The antagonist protagonist. Carefree and canny. Selfish and selfless. Smart, intelligent, sexy. (Party-girl, tragic, not a morning person, sassy aunt). She’s really all I want to be. Minus the dying part.

My only similarity is that I’m not a morning person, I’m carefree and canny, and I may have the same rack as she does.

Ok, maybe my RL friends can tell me who I’m like. Cause, I don’t know :/
