I don’t think either of them are really overtly affectionate or whatever, but Rafe definitely knows how to be more than Serenity does. She tries, but it mostly turns into a big mess.

Rafe is the big spoon, but if they aren’t spooning and Serenity wakes up from one of her nightmares, she definitely has zero problem rolling over, hiding her face in his back and becoming the big spoon.

Serenity’s inability to understand when she’s flirting.
4 - Favorite non-sexual activity?
I want to say just hanging out in bed or on the couch with a beer and talking since they somehow never run out of things to talk about with each other. So honestly that, or probably just sitting there while reading and/or Serenity reading while Rafe writes.
5 - Who is most likely to carry the other?
Rafe because Serenity is a pipsqueak, not that she doesn’t take advantage of that by surprising him by jumping on his back when she sees him walking to class or something. Though she’d totally offer him piggyback rides back.
6 - What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?
Does a laugh count as a feature? Because I think that’s Rafe’s favorite thing, Inono though. Serenity’s favorite is forever just the facial expressions he makes when he doesn’t realize he’s doing anything and/or if that doesn’t count, just his smile in general because they’re few and far between sometimes, so when he does genuinely smile, she definitely cherishes it.
7 - What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
They start fighting, lol.

Coffee Boy & Coffee Girl from the first time they met and the first time Rafe asked himself: “What did I get myself into?” as he watched the police scour Sirenbucks for Serenity.

I’d say both, but about different things. Probably mostly Serenity though, forever internally worrying that she’s doing it wrong. And by “it”, I obviously mean functioning like a human being, lol.

Rafe. Serenity knows what he likes, but Rafe knows down to extra fortune cookies.

I’d say they’re both pretty switch-y. Neither have a problem giving up control, but they both like to make sure the other knows that they could take it back whenever they wanted. I’d say 3/5 times though, Serenity, mostly because she likes torturing him to the point that he has to take the control back.

I’d say Rafe, only because Serenity forgets that “Oh, hey, I can do that.”

Serenity. That’s one of the few things she can understand and probably the biggest thing she does to make sure that after they’re done fighting, things are okay. It’s her way of making sure she isn’t imagining things and that he’s real; it grounds her.

Rafe. I imagine this would be his way of grounding her. Like: “This? This is us.” That and she also teases him to his breaking point 90% of the time and she probably infuriates him just as much now, so it just happens, lol.

Serenity and then 50% of the time she grabs a book from under her pillow and lays in bed reading quietly so she doesn’t wake him, another 25% wakes him up in a mixture of cute and cruel ways. Coffee and breakfast in bed one day, cold feet on his back the next. And then the last 25% her being a dick and teasing him awake.

Rafe because Serenity’s ass keeps waking him up.

Rafe, probably. He probably didn’t flat out say it, he probably did that thing he does that Serenity considers Voodoo and said how he feels in a hypothetical manner, avoiding all words that sound like “I love you” and just like, explaining that he does and why he does without saying it to where she just knows what he’s saying and she doesn’t freak out and she just smiles and pulls a Han Solo and is like “Me too.” and then he just knows too and then it’s probably just a look or a random kiss to say it and they both just know and they don’t actually say it until forever later when Serenity says it without even realizing they hadn’t said it all that time. So technically, Serenity.

I can’t see either of them really making the other one lunch that they’d have to take with them or anything. I can see Rafe leaving random notes in Serenity’s books as bookmarks though (when they’re fighting, I 100% see him putting one as a spoiler) and then Ren would try to do it after Rafe did it enough to give her an idea of how to do it but just end up typing up a post-it on his computer and it’d be like, a link that’s actually a picture of her in lingerie or something and then one day she’d put something that is actually sweet and sincere and it’d be Rafe’s turn to not know how to handle it and finding her and just hugging her and kissing her and then asking where his NSFW picture is to lighten the mood and make her laugh because he knows she worries about things like that.
19 - Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?
I don’t think either of them really explicitly tells anyone. Everyone just figures it out, especially when Serenity holds his hand instead of linking arms with him. I do think the first people to find out they hooked up were Serenity’s siblings and Gwen though. Mel and Dylan probably heard them (possibly Cas too) and for how much Rafe internalizes things, you know his ass ran straight to Gwen like, lol.
20 - What do their family/friends think of their relationship?
Nobody is good enough for Rafe for Marina, but she doesn’t pry or push or sabotage anything. She just makes it known that: “Hey, you make my brother happy, but you’ll never be good enough for him.” Which Serenity can respect because she’s the same with anyone Dylan is with. When it comes to his father? He probably mocks their relationship, to be honest. “A pirate and a mermaid? Blasphemy.” Antoine doesn’t care. Gwen 100% teases him about it though, but I don’t think she necessarily disapproves? I think she’d mostly dislike how Melody treats their relationship more than their actual relationship. Though Melody gets better in time with accepting them because she sees how they grow together and she’s had time to work on being a judgmental bitch. She definitely puts her fin in her mouth though. Dylan hasn’t minded from the beginning, though Serenity has a sneaking suspicion that the first time he and Rafe were alone he was like: “I don’t have to say anything, right?” And Rafe just nodded and said: “Right.” And that was all they needed to say to each other about it. I see Serenity’s parents liking Rafe from the beginning saying that he’s a polite young man and her grandfather surprising everyone with his immediate approval too, despite Rafe’s lineage. And then Serenity has too many friends to list? But none of them mind it or anything, I think most are probably 1.) surprised she’s actually in a relationship and B.) not surprised at all it’s with Rafe. I can 100% see Olly and/or Lui (if they slept together) jokingly being like “So… Who’s better?” when they’re alone with her though.

Serenity. Especially if they’re just standing there talking or in the kitchen waiting for food to cook or waiting in line for something. She has a bad habit of swaying, okay?

Overall, I think they’d cook together, or at least they’d both be in the kitchen while one or the other cooks. Who cooks the most though would probably be Serenity, but only because Rafe is really in his groove and she likes the faces he makes when he’s concentrating so she lets him be but knows he’ll forget to eat. As to who is better? Depends on the dish, not that Serenity would ever let Louis know that.

Rafe says things that are meant to be sincere and romantic but Serenity giggles at them because she doesn’t know any better, but Serenity is the one who out of the blue goes: “If you were a squirrel, I’d let you bust a nut in my hole.” So you decide, lol.

Yeesh. They both have a bad habit of internalizing things like that, so I don’t think either would actually say anything? But probably Serenity, but mostly when it comes to the “Hey, I tried to do something romantic but I don’t really know if this is how it’s supposed to go…?” and the “Is this how you express feelings?” situations. I can see Rafe bottling it up when it comes to sexual things though in the beginning.

Serenity, and Rafe would be that cliche creep that stands and watches in the doorway without her knowing with an amused smirk on his face and as soon as she realized he’s there she’d tell him to shut up, even though he didn’t say anything.

Live their own lives. They work because they aren’t dependent on each other. They like each other’s company, but they can be apart without wandering like a lost puppy and/or worrying what the other may or may not be doing.
