Ailee was at home alone while Aiden was at work. It was 10 pm, and Ailee was sitting on the couch with a blanket and the fire burning to keep her warm. Ailee called Aiden. “Hey, sweetheart.” “A-adien….” Adien noticed that Ailee had a hint of fear in her voice. “Love, what’s wrong?” “I know that I’m usually okay with you coming home late and staying home alone at night, but tonight, I feel like I’m being watched, like I’m not alone…..can you….come home…. please?” “Alright, I’m on my way.”
“Will you stay on the line with me?” “ Of course,” Adien kept talking to Aliee till he reached their home. As soon as Adien walked in, Ailee hugged him tight. Adien responded by wrapping an arm around her waist, putting a hand at the back of her head, and gently stroking her hair. In a slow, soothing way. He whispers. “I’m here.”
