I’ve always viewed the rowdy ruff boys, particularly Brick, their so-called redemption arc being in truth a transitional period in which he realizes that being an adult criminal is not something he wants or desires. It’s not practical.
Living life getting his ass kicked by heroes, having to fight tooth and nail with other villains on turf, making deals to do jobs underground for rich people only to get screwed over, unable to “deal” with them without going full on murder mode is exhausting when that’s not what he has to do nor does it fulfill any real goal he might have as he grows up.
I do not consider the boys to be innately evil. I think they are meant to emulate rowdy little boys who want to fight and play.
Any motive to be evil as an adult doesn’t really click for them. Little man syndrome only works if they are weak and feel small. Maybe in their second episode that was a plot point but it’s not enough evidence for me to think that’s going to be a repetitive issue for them.
As far as money being a motive - Stealing money may be an option but the boys are well known and easily recognizable. It would be difficult to steal a significant amount of money without having severe repercussions from either the military or the ppg.
And even if they wanted to, As far as taking over the world or any given area is going to be met with maximum resistance again from the military or the powerpuff girls and it’s not going to give them anymore of a feeling of power than what they already have.
I imagine that their entire childhood is sort of dedicated to pursuing those lines of work and Brick, as their leader realizing that work has all been fruitless is going to have some issues with adjusting to whatever he decides to do as an adult.
It’s so fun to think about Brick trying to decide on a profession or a path to give himself purpose. I cannot imagine he wants to do hero work, maybe every once in awhile to help the girls (depending on his relationship to them, positive or negative)
But I doubt that work pays well given the girls are not compensated themselves.
I think Brick would make a good lawyer or a doctor. Maybe a good artist as seen in MTH.
As for his brothers, I think Butch as a tattoo artist or piercer might be fun. Boomer would likely have no problem drifting through life and finding happiness through new experiences, possibly with Bubbles.
