Nightmares are supposed to be scary or upsetting, right?
He doesn’t really have nightmares. Not like that anyway. He never wakes with a start, sweating and heart pounding. Plagued by fears and memories of past events.
He does however get visions. Glimpses of the future presented as riddles. If anything they are frustrating. Mostly because he can’t figure them out.
An infestation of white rats that can’t be killed. Forever multiplying and consuming everything in their path. He can’t fight them all by myself. But he tries.
Being stuck at the bottom of the ocean. The water getting deeper and deeper. Darker and darker. Thicker. The surface always just beyond his reach. The light slowly fading out and moving further and further away…
