Pomponio State Beach

Just south of Half Moon Bay on Highway 1. More remote parking, fewer facilities. Good for feeling more secluded.

Bean Hollow State Beach

South of Half Moon Bay. Smaller visitor numbers. It’s scenic and a bit off the beaten path.

Davenport Beach

North of Santa Cruz, past the Davenport area. Has a more rugged coastline; when swell & wind align, you can find lower-crowd surf segments (though accessibility depends on roads & parking).

Greyhound Rock (near Davenport)

Off Highway 1 north of Santa Cruz; rocky headlands with small beaches nearby. Not entirely “secret,” but more niche and less crowded than major breaks.

El Granada / North of Miramar / Pillar Point area—less-frequented access points

Sometimes there are local paths or stairways down bluffs that only locals use. If you explore nearby roads off Highway 1 around Pillar Point and Miramar Beach, you may find smaller access points.
