I think in order to write a good literary analysis you need to take personal offence at the treatment or perception of a theme or character.

I wonder what it would have been like to experience a full relationship with some of these men I talked to. I wanted to be my own woman, not beholden by any man or woman. I wanted to excel at school. One specific line from the coming out scene really frustrated me, the one where he was talking to Joyce about what Vecna showed him and mentions her concern. It goes

“..and in this future some of you are just worried for me. Worried that things will be harder for me. And, and it just makes me feel like something’s wrong with me”

It really just rings like someone who hasn’t properly accepted themselves, even though that was his entire arc in Vol1, and this is supposed to be the resolution/epilogue to that arc

(reasoning: someone who accepts themselves WOULD recognize, that, in the eyes of the world there IS something wrong with them and come to terms with that, and so would understand why people close to them are concerned. HOWEVER, they are allowed to be frustrated by that concern still)

AND I really, really hate how ambiguous it is, acting like they (more like she, he’s obviously talking to joyce here) would have no reason to be worried, when they DO!! THEY HAVE A HUGE ONE!! AND IT’S RIGHT THERE!!! AND YOU (the writers) SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED IT WHEN MAKING A GAY KID IN NINETEEN-EIGHTY-FUCKING-SEVEN!!!

So. I went and rewrote the line to something that’s more adjacent to someone who DOES accept themselves. I’m not sure about it’s quality (and idk what word he’d use, i’m not sure he’d use AIDS but it definitely needs to be mentioned here, because, well, see above) but it does convey what I was trying to. I think
