he’s standing outside in the ambulance bay chain smoking his way through a pack of cigarettes. the sun has set, handoff has already happened, and he should be getting home. but today was a fucking nightmare - marco’s not particularly keen on being alone in his apartment, so here he stands. on his fourth cigarette. with no intent of stopping, really, until the pack is empty or his lungs give out, whichever comes first.
that is, until a presence appears at his side that lingers more than usual. not a passing patient or medic, but trinity, looking more distraught than marco’s ever seen her. “ hey, ” his voice immediately turns soft, “ trin? you okay, cara? ” the words barely leave him before she collides with his chest. marco doesn’t think, merely tosses aside his half-burnt cigarette and folds his arms around her, holding her tight as he shifts to put himself between her body and the door. for privacy’s sake. just in case. “ hey, hey… it’s okay. rough day? ”

thinking about part-angel camilla au still … her and charles’ parents being a human and an angel but only being raised by human relatives after they pass away , and not having anyone else like them around except themselves :( maybe not even being allowed to show their wings very often in favour of being seen as “normal” in public/around humans, but camilla not even being able to use hers well anyway because of one being crooked/injured bc of charles
