It’s kinda insane that in the past 5 years I’ve had to see 5 different gynecologists because of the aftereffects of roe v wade… The gynecologists keep retiring or moving to a more friendly state while the ones that remain have bad bedside manners… I’m so exhausted I just want my healthcare…

retroperitoneal hematoma is the sneaky little rat of obstetrics

post c-section. hypotensive. tachycardic. pale. cold. dying.

visible bleeding: none. uterus: firm. incision: dry.

so where is the blood????

IN THE RETROPERITONEUM. just chilling. filling up silently like a villain origin story. the retroperitoneum said “I can hold so much blood actually” and went to work.

**the vibe check:**

- boggy uterus = atony. oxytocin. massage. easy.

- heavy bleeding + firm uterus = retained placenta. ultrasound.

- NO bleeding + firm uterus + patient is DYING = rat behavior. retroperitoneal hematoma.

unstable → OR. now. don’t you dare order a CT.

stable → CT → embolization. fine.

Cw obgyn pain and (in my opinion) malpractice

Ask your obgyn for pain control during your IUD insertion.

Ask your obgyn for pain control during your IUD insertion.

When I got my IUD inserted 8 years ago, my experience was so terrible it left me shaking and sobbing even after I’d been given a medication to soften my cervix AND enough Valium to render me almost unable to walk.

I just had my IUD switched out by an obgyn who has published papers on reducing pain during obgyn procedures. The stuff she did was so common sense that I can’t believe we haven’t been doing it for 50 years.

She put lidocaine on the speculum, then used lidocaine and sodium carbonate to numb my cervix. She waited until my cervix was numb before she did anything. The whole procedure took about 5 minutes. At its most painful, it was as bad as a bad period cramp. (I mean a regular bad period cramp. Not a “I have undiagnosed endo” period cramp.)

If fear of pain is preventing you from getting an IUD, ask for effective pain medication. Bring in the papers. DM me if you want the specific info my doctor used.

Bruh..it shouldn’t be this hard to get a goddamn obgyn appointment. It took me two years to finally get one today and only because I’m related to a doctor. My mother called and texted every damn gynecologist in the region trying to get an appointment for cancer screening for me because I still have my uterus and would like to keep it until I’m 36 because I was unsure whether or not I wanted biological kids (increasingly unlikely seeing how things are going these days). And now finally, she decided to call a gynecologist an hour away that she is friendly with and who works for the same parent lab she works for. I was hesitant because I worked at the same lab. I know where my results are going and I was not out to the majority of my former coworkers. They will see my results and know. So that’s fucking fun.

To make it clear how little trans men are seen by gynecologists for something as routine as a cancer screening/pap smear: I was the main attraction in that obgyn office today. The first trans man ever to get a cancer screening in their office. They were very kind, gave me an appointment after hours, I only got misgendered once, the questionnaire sheet was addressed to only female patients (gendered German language, just love it ugh), asked some questions about it. But they essentially admitted they have no idea what they were dealing with. Thankfully I only needed that damn pap-smear. No biggie. She said she’s also willing to fight the health insurance on my behalf because nobody had any clue how to bill this, so that’s fun. But I appreciate her willing to go fight them on my behalf. That’s rare. Although it has probably more to do with the fact that she is friendly with my mother and has very little to do with me. I don’t think I’d have been able to get this appointment and have it go as well as it did on my own. She’s also cool with me telling other trans men I know that she’s open to taking in more patients like me. But did not want to be put into the community based german-wide medical database where we list doctors that are safe to go to. Like that’s what would actually be helpful to all the trans masc people in this area, like it’s so damn rural here, we’re all spaced out in these tiny ass villages. But I don’t wanna antagonize the one, single gynecologist that was willing to see me after two years of searching. So I’m gonna grit my teeth and let it go and just tell whoever I meet that she’s safe and willing to help.

Alabama is among the states that have seen a significant drop in the number of obstetrician-gynecologists working there since Roe v. Wade was overturned and cleared the way for states to ban abortion, resulting in doctors being unable to provide standard care and in a number of cases, placing patients in serious and even deadly danger.

On Friday, at a White House roundtable on healthcare in rural areas—some of the hardest-hit by the lack of OB-GYN care in states with abortion bans—one of President Donald Trump’s top health officials suggested the exodus of doctors from Alabama and other crises in healthcare access have resulted in positive innovations as care is outsourced to “robots.”

October 01–03, 2026 | Dubai, UAE

The field of gynecology is at the forefront of advancing women’s health across the lifespan, encompassing preventive care, diagnostics, therapeutics, reproductive medicine, and surgical innovation. In recognition of the growing need for interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice, the 10th World Congress on Clinical and Medical Research (WCCMR 2026) invites researchers, clinicians, academicians, and healthcare professionals to submit abstracts to Track 13: Gynecology.

WCCMR 2026, scheduled to take place from October 01–03, 2026, in Dubai, UAE, serves as a premier global forum for sharing high-quality research, clinical experiences, and innovative approaches that shape the future of clinical and medical sciences.
