Rose has been my girl up until now but Blake’s tragedy in 10.1 is just too good. Doomed by trusting someone he didn’t even want to trust.

A Thing that Pact keeps doing is introducing great, amazing, fun characters, for like a couple chapters. I love Pizza Revenant and Faceless Woman. What a pair of sillies.

I very much like Rose’s plot here, but it is NOT good. And she is alienating Blake at a truly outstanding rate. But it is very cool and good that she and her circle are actually making progress and aren’t completely useless without Mr. Main Character. But it is so funny in a DEEPLY frustrating and infuriating way. My girl I want to continue stanning you!

Jeremy is cool. I liked his Interlude.

I’ll have to reread, but I’m kind of let down by how much Blake is still himself. You know, we get all this stuff about how he’s losing himself, letting the spirits in, changing and becoming a monster, but he’s still very much the guy we started out with, just beaten broken and damned. He’s lost relationships, and possessions, but he’s still the guy who is against taking free help, who cares about the innocent, and who is very harsh and sarcastic against those who cause harm. Like, IDK, he’s still by far the person who cares the most about morality in the whole stage of the Aware, and he stands out as such, and it isn’t even entirely a Taylor thing of that being something she tells herself to sleep at night. (Not that it isn’t something he’s made a part of his self-conception, but he genuinely cares about it more than she ever did. She’d have nearly wiped out the Behaim clan’s reproductive ability by now). Like, every other Other we meet is so gleefully murderous that him still being so Blake-y is weird.
