duuude i finally farmed the creepy guy in ninah and he has to be the worst victim of ooc portrayal in fandom stuff… have to check the Eng translation but in Russian he isn’t really a masochist or a glutton for punishment or a pushover. like yeah he is very focused on pain and colorful in describing it but more so as an opposite of being numb (same as pleasure), or a feeling of control over his body, and he is actually consistently angry with protag overstepping his boundaries. he asks about protag punching him but I dont think he asks *to be hit* or would be happy about it…
EDIT okay so it’s not fandom’s fault but the translation’s. he literally screams about wanting to be hit in english. wildest difference between the characterization so far, he literally says opposing things at times:
ENG: “Look at you getting all judgey-wudgey. Wanna hit me? Go on! Smash my face, break my fingers! YES! Give me that rush, feed me! Yesssssssssssss! What? You won’t hit me? Don’t feel the urge? <…> At least we’re all mad here…” - actually begs for it, weird baby-talk quirk, screams in pleasure
RUS: “You look as if you’re judging me. Well? Want to punch me? Go on! Punch me in the face, break <my?your?> fingers, so I would grow hot and forgot how to breathe from the pain. What? Not gonna hit me? Not gonna take out the gun? …Well I’ll stay right here, then. <…> At least it’s less of a looney bin here.” - idk how well I translated the tone but he sounds more bitter here, like daring you to do something
