World of ideas & imagination — AY25.26 WOII

AESTHETICS - week 2

For week 2, we were asked to choose a logo around school and imagine if as a person in real life. I choose “Night shift bar” because i think the logo looks strong and cool, the owl symbol and the dark colors give a mysterious and have a powerful mfeeling. When i saw it first saw it, it immediately stood to come compared to other logos.

If the logo that i choose become a person, i imagine she is someone who feels more alive at night than in the daytime. She is confident, bold, nd doesnt really care about what people think about her. She probably dresses in black or dark colors and dramatic makeup. She enjoy city lights, music, crowded place, but she also likes to stay quiet nd observe people.

The owl symbol makes me think someone smart and observant. And also owls active at night. So it matches with the “nightshift” idea. I can imagine how the person is independent and strong. But maybe a little hard too approach. She has a glamorous but slightly chaotic energy and personality, there is a a mix luxury and a danger in her vibes.

From this excercise, i learned that logo its not just graphic design. It can represent a personality, mood, and lifestyles. Aesthetics is not only about appearance , but also the feeling and story behind it.

Idk what’s the deal with Kurzgesagt’s new channel but I refuse to watch it. Not because of any “billionaire funding” controversies, but because that moon’s face creeps me the fuck out.

On the left is a YouTube profile pic of the moon with a creepy as fuck looking smile and eyes.

On the right there's text for the YouTube channel. It reads as following:

For 72 years, Louis XIV ruled as the most powerful king in Europe. He centralized power, reshaped the map of Europe, and turned Versailles into a glittering machine of spectacle and control. But no king can rule his own body. Behind closed doors, he lived at the mercy of his doctors, enduring the brutal limits of 17th century medicine.

Waking up from my pre nightshift nap like…

Alternating between a nocturnal sleep pattern during weekends and a diurnal sleep pattern during weekdays requires 1-2 full days of intermittent napping at odd hours to fully scramble the previous pattern and create enough circadian chaos that you can inflict a whole new form on your sleep cycle. The new pattern will take at least 2 days to gel… and by then, it’s time to destroy it again.

Sunday and Monday = nap scramble days

Tuesday and Wednesday = class days

Wednesday night and Thursday = nap scramble nights

Friday and Saturday = night shift time

Repeat until sanity is no longer recoverable

For centuries, humanity hunted the largest animals that ever lived. Not for food, but for light, machines, and profit. Whale oil powered cities, fueled industrialization, and pushed entire species to the brink of extinction. This is the story of commercial whaling, and what it reveals about progress and destruction.

🌙 The city neon is an EKG. The moonlight is a surgical lamp.
💉 “Moonlight Clinic Shift” is a procedure for the mind—excising the noise, implanting the rhythm.

idk i just think its fascinating that everything jack does is interpreted by dave as being henryish, including meaningless actions. jack is inescapably tied to henry in multiple ways in daves eyes; viewing him both as henry and as herself during her time with henry. dogman outright confirms the idea that dave views jack as a replacement for him, going as far as to say dave “molded [jack] into a second henry”. legacy!jack even goes as far as copying the nickname henry gave dave, referring to him as “willy” and scaring the living hell out of him because that was a nickname only ever used by henry. she hates the result of her own actions but feels she wouldnt be able to live without it.

daves entire personality was molded by henry, having handcrafted her into a manipulative, cruel, and puppeteering mastermind; who’s also exceptionally childish and who cannot function normally for the life of him. hes made him into a shell of who she used to be, having literally lobotomized her to do so. dave is everything henry ever wanted him to be by force because she saw no other option to bringing him back than to become him.

all dave knows is henry and jack & all dave ever wants to know is henry and jack. the only things he has ever conceptualized beyond them are the circus and fazbenders, both of which are intrinsically tied to henry and jack. the only things dave has ever cared about are all intrinsically linked to them in one way or another; whether it be by familial ties or by actual literal ownership.

i feel like a lot of daves feelings come from a place of parental admiration towards jack in a very fascinating way where he is simultaneously parent and child. shes too meandering and childish to be a real adult, but too masterminding and smart to be a child. she never had a true childhood, describing it herself even as “terrible”, and the “childhood” she did get was as a young adult in henrys pseudoparental “care”. she replaced her lack of father with henrys care and, later on, jacks. she views jack as both someone to mold, a child, and someone who looks after her, a parent.

she has spent years being parentified, forced to take on tasks that she cannot possibly handle, and the entire time she was treated as a scared and confused child. she grew up another freak in henrys circus and later on become nothing but a test subject for him to experiment on. shes spent her entire life being told to act older, be better, be more adult, while being treated as a child. even flipside!dave himself is described as the “rational” side, and hes noticeably more childish than reality!dave. reality!dave is, towards the end, an insane conniving man whos only recently began to start viewing himself as an actual adult; flipside!dave counters this by being abnormally childish, getting into childish arguments with dee over whether chica is a duck or chicken.
