they pause, looking around after opening their eyes. they didnt know where they were, and that certainly worried them. the stars above them were familiar enough, but that told them very little of where they were. the wind blew through their thin fur. they barely sensed any condensation in the clouds above. this was an unfamiliar area, and they could hardly see any other creatures in the land around them.

“which one? im happy to give a rough map of a region! ill just need to narrow it a bit, pup!- or do you want me to guide you! i can do that too, ill just need a bit! ive got some things to do, pearls to deliver, areas to polish up a bit!” they seem happy to talk about mapping, and their voice is full of enthusiasm! though they are speaking a bit quickly and excitedly, they do seem to be rushing a smidge, after all, theyre a busy slugcat!

Hi guys,
I’ve always wanted a decorative #worldmap poster on my wall. It makes me think of all the cities and countries I would like to see and makes me dream of visiting all those fantastic places! And thanks to @mappershop, I was able to hang my first map to my wall! Yay! 😊 Time to start dreaming! 😉
This beauty is the Eckert Vi map, one of the beautiful maps of the World Map Projection Collection, which is suitable to decorate every personal space in any house and matches every style and any interior! This map was first described in 1906 by German geographer Max Eckert - Greinferdorff and is one of the three pairs of pseudo-cylinder projections the author published and was used as a world atlas in the Sovjet Union in 1937. The fact that you can choose how you like to see the world, by choosing your favorite shape, is what makes this collection so special. Take the Bonne Map, for example, that one is heartshaped and yes, that’s as breathtaking as it sounds! These designs are definitely more than just a map, they’re two-dimensional projections of Earth!
Throughout history one of the main geographical problems has been to represent the terrestrial sphere in a two-dimensional plane pursuing as little distortion as possible. That is why, for more than five centuries, scientists have proposed more than 400 projections to try to achieve it.
The World Map Projection Collection is available with both a white as a black background, but the black version also has stars, which gives it a nice extra touch and matches beautifully with sleek white walls.
