Contrary to the myths surrounding the album, #trentreznor was not a novice when he selfproduced a demo at a #Cleveland recording studio while working there as a janitor and handyman, having been in several local bands up to that point and appearing in the #joanjett #michaeljfox film #lightofday. The demo got him a record deal and production help from the likes of #flood and #adriansherwood, who were well versed in #electronic #music, having worked with #depechemode #popwilleatitself and #skinnypuppy.
