Underpainting studies of apples in watercolor~🎨🍎
These are all red apples which were painted over with the same red paint, but with different colors for the underpainting (the first layer of watercolor paint).
The first apple on the top left corner was painted with a blue underpainting (warm blue); the second apple to the right was painted with a red underpainting, making it the most saturated of all; the apple in the bottom left corner was painted with a green underpainting; and the last apple on the bottom right corner was painted with cyan (cool blue). A layer of warm yellow pigment was applied to all applies before the final layer of red pigment.
My favorite underpaintings here are the blue and cyan, and I’ll probably use those again in future work involving underpaintings.

Just a quick update on the Juno situation.
She had emergency surgery last night and all appears to have been positive so far. She’s got a long road to recover but we’ll be getting things ready to have her home hopefully tomorrow.
Thank you for all your kind words and well wishes, I do think it makes a difference. Last night as I was lying in bed waiting for the call to update us on how the surgery went I felt a big external wave of love for our Juno and a moment later the call came through to let us know that the surgery had gone well.
She’s a feisty little thing and hopefully she’ll get back to a good quality of life soon.

juno is such a good movie and i think part of that is the almost absurd vernacular. why did we abandon that. it was great.

Impressionist blackberry in soft pastel~🎨💜
This tiny blackberry is about 2x2 inches in size, so fairly small. The dried flower blossoms are fireweed.
This is soft pastels on pastelmat.

The nice thing about divorcing Ann from Ina is that he can have a relatively normal relationship with Juno now.
This guy did not murder all his birb son’s friends. Or tear off his wings.

love being able to do crossovers in my head because i think im correct in saying juno and bleeker would do numbers in the animal army
