jumbo
i thought jumbo was gone for good. his mother was never really ours, we just cared for her when we could. jumbo was adopted by someone in the neighborhood before, but when they couldnt handle the responsibility anymore, they just let him roam the streets. whenever i used to see him, he would always follow me around like he belonged with me.
last year, i heard he was missing and no one had seen him in the area. i assumed he had wandered off for good. but today, i saw a dog with the same fur color and didnt think much of it, until he suddenly ran past me the exact way jumbo used to. when i crossed the street to withdraw money, i thought he wouldnt follow, but he did. it felt like old times. on my way back home, he didnt trail behind me anymore, just like before. i hope he stays nearby and doesnt disappear again.
i wish we could take him in, but our house is small and we already have five dogs. its hard. i still care about him, even if i cant give him a home inside.
btw i read about the ongoing tensions involving iran, israel, and the united states. there were claims that oil distribution might be affected, which could lead to price increases. it made me anxious thinking about how global conflicts can reach us indirectly through things like fuel prices or any neccesity that might affect.
