JOMP Book Photo Challenge March 2026: 12: Latest Purchase

Found a copy of Der Kleine Vampir by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg at a discount at a train station, and I just had to have this. I have not read that many books from this series, never the first one, and I believe also none in the original German, but even so, it was one of the most influential book series from my childhood. Not sure if I will ever actually read it, but I am so happy to have my own copy now.

I seem to be in a Carlo Rovelli phase, and this book of essays has such a beautiful title, I couldn’t resist.

I read this sweet, romantic story a couple of years ago. Maybe this spring is the ideal time for a reread?

Écrire à l'Encre Violette - Littératures Lesbiennes en France de 1900 à Nos Jours
Exactly what it says on the tin: It’s a nonfiction about French lesbian literature history. So you get the gay part, but also the female authors part.

I usually don’t do this, because fixing a reading goal is putting pressure on me and keeps me from being spontaneous, but I want to buy myself a shiny recent release, and the bargain is to finish these three first.

A tiny little book of some of Jane Austen’s very early writing. It’ll only take me an hour to read, I should think, but it’ll be a fun hour :-)
