for perhaps the first time in her ogden career, parker had showed up to a gala considerably late. not fifteen, thirty minutes late, but trickling in somewhere into the second hour. when the first couple texts started popping up, she’d replied with excuses of running late and hair taking longer than expected. only jesse, whom she’d told to go ahead and make his way over, might’ve been aware of the true source of her procrastination: a desire to not go.
but nostalgia and, frankly, a fear of missing out had damped down the impulse to skip it every time it sprang up. i don’t want to goooo, she’d groaned before immediately following up with, but i am, obviously, at least thrice. now, as she entered, her eyes scanned for a familiar face. then—jacqui. as otherworldly and luminous and safe as always.
“hey,” parker greeted once close enough, offering a grin that concealed her complicated feelings. “i imagine you’ve already scoped out the best and worst vibes around here.”

Jacqui was born and raised in Narcene City Unova and is currently a practicing criminal defense lawyer in Orre. She has a pacemaker in her chest from Cardiac Arrythmia. She has a taste for the finer things in life, she’s super shy around women as she is a proud lesbian. She’s 27 years old and the second protagonist alongside Vivian Nirvana and she is Vivian’s ex girlfriend.
She is very fascinated in the law but her heart condition prevented her from chasing her dreams of becoming a police officer, she competed in the Unova League challenge and only got 7 badges before dropping very soon after the Team Plasma Opelucid City Terrorist Attack. She would switch careers to being a lawyer and depart to Orre.
Her personality is that she is confident, observant, cunning and diligent and inquisitive, smart, defeatist, self loathing, sassy and sharp tongued, charismatic and caring to her Pokémon, she believes that the law is how true change is accomplished and that the rights and privileges of people are both decided and safe-guarded in the courtrooms. Jacqui is hedonistic in a fatalistic way and she often doesn’t care about the long term or sometimes short term effects of her actions because what does it matter she’s gonna die young anyway, unless the situation is seriously FUBAR.
Jacqui often gets incredibly tongue tied, nervous and shy yet incredibly submissive when she is the presence of a beautiful women whose smiles can leave her blushy, sweaty and gripping the hem of her skirt in a vice grip or fanning her hand frantically, she averts her eyes and smiles nervously, Vivian finds this behavior of hers to be adorable.

a nervous thumb ran over a singular petal from one of parker’s valentine’s roses. it’d been tucked into a large tote bag of hers, note still attached. a reminder, a push. not that parker quite needed either, her own curiosity piqued at g’s latest taunt.
someone is lying about how they met greer.
unfortunately for them both, she didn’t even know how to play into their game this time around. did she even know how most people had met greer? the large assumption, at some point, was just through school. through friends at school. it wasn’t like they were all constantly at greer’s wedding and the first question asked was, how do you know the bride? still, parker’s eyes wandered around the common area for a lead—for anyone she didn’t know the origin story of for fact. and there, across the way, was jacqui. who, as far as she knew, had never even met greer face-to-face.
parker pulled her arm from her bag and away from the rose and made her approach before she could talk herself out of it. “hey,” she offered once she’d neared, grin already an apology. for a moment she’d considered how to work around the topic, but what was she, an undercover spy? “can i ask you a question? but, fair warning, it’s not going to be fun.”
