A purple-themed graphic with abstract wavy shapes in the background. At the top, bold white text reads "NEURODIVERSITY CELEBRATION WEEK" and "MARCH 16 TO MARCH 22." In the center is a rainbow-colored infinity symbol composed of individual rectangular segments. Below the symbol, a block of black text explains that the week is about recognizing neurological differences as a natural part of human diversity and working toward a more inclusive society. In the bottom-right corner, white text promotes the brand "Retrophiliac" and provides their website links for wearable items designed by an autistic person.ALT

Neurodiversity Celebration Week reminds us that there’s no single “right” way for a brain to work. Neurodivergent people have a wide range of experiences, strengths, and challenges, and inclusion means creating spaces that truly respect how different brains function.

Artificial intelligence is transforming how organizations operate, but ethical governance must evolve just as quickly.

In 2026, project managers in large organizations are no longer just delivery leaders they are guardians of responsible AI deployment. Ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance is now a critical part of modern project governance.

Here are 8 AI ethics priorities every project manager should focus on.

⚖️ 1. Bias & Fairness
AI models must be monitored to prevent discriminatory outcomes and ensure equitable decision-making.

🔍 2. Transparency & Explainability
Stakeholders must understand how AI systems make decisions.

🔒 3. Data Privacy & Security
Protecting sensitive data is essential for trust and regulatory compliance.

🧭 4. Accountability
Organizations must clearly define who is responsible for AI outcomes.

🌍 5. Inclusion & Diversity
Diverse teams and datasets lead to more ethical and effective AI systems.

🌱 6. Environmental Impact
AI models can consume large amounts of energy, making sustainability important.

📜 7. Regulatory Compliance
AI governance must align with evolving global regulations and standards.

🏛️ 8. Ethical Governance
Organizations must embed AI ethics into project and portfolio governance frameworks.

💡 The takeaway:

🚲🔥 QUÉBEC : UN ATELIER DE VÉLOS INTERDIT AUX HOMMES ? 👀⚙️

The Need for DEI in STEM - The Innovation Gap

Why is diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) important in STEM?

To answer this, we must first understand what these terms actually mean in practice. Diversity refers to who is represented in a group, encompassing gender, ethnicity, neurodiversity, and thought. Equity differs from equality; while equality assumes treating everyone the same, equity adjusts treatment to account for disparities and unique circumstances to ensure fair outcomes. Inclusion is about the environment—how valued and respected individuals feel within that space.

The Data: The Need for DEI

While the US STEM workforce is seeing increased representation, significant gaps remain. Underrepresented groups comprise a smaller share of the STEM workforce compared to the overall population, with Hispanics at 15%, Asians at 10%, and Blacks at 9%.

The gender gap is also distinct. According to MIT, women make up only 28% of the STEM workforce.

This disparity varies globally:

  • United States: 24%
  • European Union: 17%
  • Japan: 16%
  • India: 14%

In higher education computer science programs, women earn just 18% of bachelor’s degrees. Closing these gaps is essential not just for fairness, but for performance. A report by McKinsey & Company reveals that firms in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 30% more likely to have financial returns above their national industry medians.

Talking about myself, Character Design and Pokemon trainer Sidiko.

Since I am treating my pokemon trainer persona as an individual separate from myself, I figured today would be a good day to share some artwork of Sidiko.

Initially Sidiko starts like any other traditional pokemon trainer. Eventually on her journey she starts having fainting spells and falling. Compounding these issues are intermittent dizzy spells and random heart rate spikes when doing simple…

Mermaid Magic

Hey, HypedNHandmade fans, this post is EXTRA special and gives you a peek into the origin of my passion for creating beautiful and inclusive celebrations for my loved ones. Before HypedNHandmade had a name, before I knew this would become my creative language, there was just a mom trying to plan a magical party for her daughters. I’ll bring it all together at the end of this post. Happy reading!

More Than a Mermaid Party: The Celebration That Changed Everything

Some parties are fun. Some parties are beautiful. And then there are the ones that quietly change the direction of your creativity forever.

This mermaid-themed birthday party was all three, but more than anything, it was the moment that sparked my passion for creating party décor that looks like and feels like my beautiful brown babies.

The Moment That Sparked It All

When I started planning this party, I did what most parents do, I searched for decorations that fit the theme. Mermaid parties were everywhere… but something was missing.

I found a mermaid design I loved and reached out to the seller to ask if they offered a digital version of their African American mermaid. The image already existed, but it was only available pre-printed. I was told they weren’t taking custom orders.

Here’s the thing though:

  1. Being Black isn’t custom.
  2. They already had the file. It just wasn’t made accessible.
  3. That moment stayed with me.

So, I made a decision: if I couldn’t find what my girls deserved, I would create it myself, or work with designers who could help me build a party world where my daughters could see themselves fully represented. That was the beginning of everything.

Creating a Mermaid World That Looked Like Us

For this party, I went all out, because representation matters, and joy deserves effort. As I have always done, I decorated a photo wall and dining area in our home. I also created prize-worthy materials for our daughter’s first real birthday party. I worked with a friend, bought one off files, and ambled on my own to create pieces that met our needs.

I made sure that the materials I created featured African American mermaids with big, coily hair, rich tones, and magic that reflected my girls. Seeing their faces light up when they saw themselves in the décor? Worth every late night.

The Home Spaces

The home-crafted décor included a fun photo wall brought to life with blue and green streamers styled to look like seaweed and cardstock fish in varying sizes, colors, and textures swimming across the space wall. I also made a balloon arch in the party’s colors and a giant number 3 covered in mermaid scales.

The Party

A Fully On-Theme Mermaid Menu

The food was playful, creative, and completely under-the-sea inspired:

  • Blue Jello cups with gummy sharks
  • A coral reef veggie tray
  • A dolphin-themed fruit tray
  • Candy kelp for sweet snacking
  • Crab-decorated croissant sandwiches
  • Thematic meal names that made everything feel immersive
  • The most beautiful mermaid cake and cupcakes to tie it all together

Every detail was designed to feel fun, cohesive, and magical.

The Shirts

As with other parties, I also made shirts for the birthday girl and her underwater crew, mommy, daddy, and big sis. Wearing our cohesive shirts made it feel like a full family celebration, not just a party, but a shared moment.

Transforming a Kids Gym Into an Underwater Dream

The party was held at a kids gym, but they allowed us to fully decorate and truly command the space, and we did. When the staff told me I could decorate and bring food, they definitely did not expect their space to be transformed into an underwater paradise. The gym’s party space disappeared, and a mermaid lagoon took its place.

We hung a beautiful underwater backdrop across their expansive mirror and set a table full of on theme foods in front of it. We used a second table to house the drinks, snacks, and fun party favors.

The favors were one of my favorite parts: kinetic sand jars that doubled as an activity and a keepsake.

Each jar included:

  • Kinetic sand
  • Toy shells and aquatic creatures
  • Glittery sea grass for extra sparkle

For a bit of extra pizzazz, we stored the favors inside an upcycled paper box that I transformed into a pirate treasure chest. The pirate chest started as a simple blue box. With a little imagination (and a lot of love), I:

  • Painted it brown
  • Added a treasure map
  • Included a skull and crossbones

And just like that, the treasure chest was born. It became a focal point and a reminder that sometimes the most magical pieces start with the simplest materials. This party was absolutely a labor of love,  my Cricut made it manageable. Custom files, layered details, personalized elements… It allowed me to bring my vision to life without burning out.

And that’s when I realized something powerful:

This isn’t just about parties. It’s about representation, creativity, and telling our stories beautifully.

This mermaid party wasn’t just a birthday, it was the beginning of HypedNHandmade. A space where crafting is my love language, and where my children, and others, can see themselves reflected in the joy we create.

Novicegender

A gender related/connected to novices from the game King’s Bounty: Dark Side. (If anyone’s wondering, novices are simply priestesses.) It can be used when one’s gender is related to novicehood, being a novice, and/or the aesthetic of novices (doesnt have to directly relate to religion)

They do understand that just because the school is non-religious doesn’t mean religious students no longer exist. I’m not even religious or anything but cutting it out completely is not helpful. If you want an inclusive school you need to be inclusive. Waterloo Road is more than the amount of students who go there it’s about helping and supporting the ones that are already at the school.

And I would end it there but I feel I must talk about this whole situation.

I personally think that both parties were in the wrong. What I mean by that is obviously Shuey and Tyler are in the wrong for using the rainbow and queer people generally to take out their anger about Christianity being removed. I do also think that first of the school shouldn’t have done that to begin with but also Cat handled it not the best. I am queer myself and I love that part of myself, I personally think that religion for a lot of people is a way of understanding the world better and can help with morals. While that doesn’t excuse people who use religion as a cover for their own hatred and bigotry. I can see how it could feel like someone is trying to dismiss that part of you.

What I’m trying to say, not very well, is that I think both Shuey and Cat are ultimately fighting for the same principle (to be seen, understood and included). Even if the way they go about it is flawed. The others tbh are just there for their own self righteousness so I don’t even want to get started on that.

Spirituality On The Spectrum: How Neurodiversity Can Transform the Church

Guest Author Post by Lieutenant Chelsea Brevitt

Neurodiversity, Church, and Belonging

In recent years, the church has begun to ask deeper questions about belonging. As congregations grow more aware of differences, conversations about inclusion have moved beyond physical accessibility to the inner life of faith itself.

One of the most important of these conversations concerns neurodiversity – a…
