[I] THANK YOU:
Thank you for viewing my fundraiser. As someone who values self-sufficiency, asking for support is difficult, but I want to be transparent about my situation.
I need an #Amplifier for my Ham Radio. I had enough money to buy 10 of them, BUT:
When my Wife of 30 years divorced me, a friend of mine said I could move in with him, and I was very grateful to say the least.
When I arrived at his home in Wolverine, Michigan, I learned the next day that:
His situation was:
The following week:
He gave me legal ownership of the house until I am repaid. I won’t see it.
[II] Now, my savings were all but gone. Amplifier went POOF!
The above all but wiped me out. My plans of buying an #Amplifier were sunk.
[III] WHERE I LIVE:
Wolverine is a nice town, but there is nothing for me to do here. During the winter, most people are out on their snowmobiles or ice fishing. During the summer, they’ll be out on one of the many smaller freshwater lakes or the Great Lakes in $100,000+ boats, or fishing. And more power to them! They love it and can afford it.
With only 309 residents, I find there is absolutely nothing for me to do. After being here for just shy of three years I cannot take the boredom any longer. My plan was to buy an #Amplifier and finish my Ham Radio Station so I can keep busy.
[III] A simple analogy is this: when I was working, my Employer sent me to Australia on business. I spent 21 hours in that Aircraft. Nothing to do. If you want to know what that feels like, grab a chair, go into a closet with a light bulb, shut the door and sit there for 21 hours.
That is the boredom I face daily.
[VI] Why an #Amplifier?
Being so far North in Michigan, I’m in need of an #Amplifier to help me reach out further, achieve clearer signals, greatly reduce noise, allow me to be heard and allow me to hear. #Communication would be much easier for me. Since I’m legally deaf in my right ear, having this amplifier would significantly enhance my ability to hear and understand others, especially when used alongside my good left ear albeit that is at 50% capacity.
[V] HAM RADIO AMPLIFIER:
#Ham #Radio means everything to me—it’s truly my lifeline. My passion for the hobby is hard to put into words.

[VI] ABOUT ME: My name is Lyman DeLiguori, and just shy of a 70-year-old resident of Wolverine, Michigan, an area known for intense Lake Effect snow. And boredom.
[VII] MEDICAL CONDITION:
In a word, bad, but I will spare you all the details and whining.
• I am seeing a Hematologist / Oncologist. $1,500 PER VISIT. That is racking up.
• On June 23rd, 2025, I was taken by Ambulance to Munson Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan, in Critical Condition.
• For a year I have been seeing an Ophthalmologist fighting a disease in my Right Eye (Blepharitis)
• I will be 70 years old very shortly.
• I want to reach 75 so I can see my Grandson graduate College.
[VIII] WHY MY GOFUNDME:
Virtually all the money I had in savings went to pay off my friends’ debt.
[IX] MY PASSION:
Ham Radio! I began in #HamRadio in 2008, and I love it.
In 2012, my then-Wife and I took in a family with four young children. Despite financial challenges, the presence of the children brought me great happiness, and I still keep in touch with them when she will give them the phone. Heartbreaking. Fortunately, the one in College I speak with often.
Due to financial constraints in 2018, I made the decision to sell all of my Ham Radio equipment, including every component. The collection, valued at approximately $20,000, was sold out of necessity, as prioritizing the children was paramount.
[X] MY INCOME:
My only income comes from what I jokingly call “Social Insecurity.” To say I’m buried in medical debt would be an understatement, and those expenses are only going to increase. As mentioned, I’m under the care of a Hematologist/Oncologist, with each visit costing an insane $1,500.00.
I have been seeing an Ophthalmologist for a year now, trying to resolve an infection in my eyes (Blepharitis).
[XI] MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
My professional career was as a Network Administrator for #Lockheed, #Raytheon, and #Qualcomm.
Beyond GoFundMe’s Protection Guarantee, you can trust me because I am cleaner than a Hounds Tooth.
I worked on highly classified projects at Lockheed—so secret even Congress and the Vice President were unaware. The security for one project exceeded that of the Manhattan Project.
These are known as ‘Deep Black’ Projects.
My background check for clearance, conducted by agencies including the FBI, DEA, D.O.D., and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), took six months and was extremely thorough—they even uncovered a 1972 speeding ticket from when I was 17.
When I was given my clearance by a Special Agent from the FBI, I asked if the NSA and CIA had investigated me as well . He grinned and responded, “No comment.” The dossier he had was some five inches thick. I had 10 minutes to review it and could not leave with it.
I often worked long stretches—sometimes up to 72 hours straight. The Pentagon’s requests were always urgent and last minute, prompting a VP at Lockheed to joke, “We don’t pay Lyman overtime, we charge him rent,” which I took as a compliment.
So, there you have it. If you would please donate to my amplifier, I would certainly appreciate it. This… doing nothing day after day after day is eating away at me. Please, and God bless you.
