9. guilty pleasure movie?
gooood question. i used to kinda feel that way about the ring bc it’s sort of #uncultured to like it more than ringu But then i realized people were just being pretentious & sometimes borderline fetishistic and also i do love ringu & i don’t think one is better than the other. it’s just not geared as much toward my preferences as the ring. and now i don’t have any guilty pleasure movies i think.

15. do you like to talk during movies? or silence?
it depends on the person + context, like obviously i don’t wanna talk during a movie at a theater, but if i’m streaming online it’s fun to talk during it if it’s only one or two other people (otherwise it can get overstimulating), but i also like talking in a chat thing and not doing a VC. if i’m watching at home with someone … idk depends on if they say things i like or not LOL

25. how many physical movies do you own?
i think i own one of the resident evil movies on dvd? but it’s back at my parents’ place. that’s it though cuz i don’t have anything to play it on </3 that’s fine though i think TVs are my least favorite things to watch stuff on … they always seem so far away which is fine if it’s at a theater bc the screens are massive but even on a widescreen tv it’s gotta be pretty close.

Obviously I’m also there to see new movies (& there are a couple there I haven’t seen) but in the next couple months they’re showing mean girls (might not make this one tho </3) + the thing + fight club + pulp fiction oh we could not be more back

well i’m the most clueless poster in the world and i did NOTTTT know that new silent hill movie is out TODAY. i’m kind of. tempted. like i’m virtually guaranteed to be disappointed but also what can i say IM CURIOUS. what sort of a deranged shitshow will the film be.

sh2 was such a beautiful game and so meaningful to me as a piece of art and as horror, and it does something i’ve only ever seen my #1 favorite game Nier do so well. the way it uses your actions to retroactively affect the story and cast James’ actions in different lights depending on how You The Player interact with the game is just. it’s inspired. you’re part of the story now. it’s an artform that may only be possible in vidya games. and i can’t think about the story too long without wanting to cry!!! i honestly don’t think it’s even POSSIBLE to recreate it as a movie (why IMO the nier automata anime does not follow the game perfectly – you can’t replicate the same experience if you’re a viewer vs participant!) but the ways it will be a failure could be interesting. perhaps

oh wow. of all time?? that’s a lot of responsibility LOL uhhhh. i’m sure i’ve seen ones more underrated than this but in terms of how much i care about it, ringu 0 makes me go insaaaane like i KNOW it’s derivative of carrie. but it’s so plural … i enjoy it

sooo fucking annoying in Several reblogs of that post about liking stories where there are themes of audience complicity that are like “this but NOT funny games” where the sort of description of what they Like (explicitly or implicitly) is like. The characters begging you to help but you can’t. like lol ok so it needs to hold your hand? the characters need to beg you for something for it to be Good even if the point is still the same in that watching/playing/etc. something is putting the character through something terrible? idk man like sorry the gaslighting abusive parent allegory serial killer isn’t being niceys to you and telling you you can’t do anything to prevent it when you literally can by not engaging with it
