Choi Gaon with this golden third run in the snowboard halfpipe finals, after suffering a severe fall in the first run 😭 🖤💜🤍
If I had a penny for every time a freestyler during the Olympics lost their phone while doing a trick I’d have two pennies. Which isn’t a lot but it’s funny it happened twice
I’m not into sports or the Olympics or anything, but my dad’s been watching half-pipe whilst I’m here, and I am obsessed with the British commentary on the snowboarding at the Winter Olympics.
We talk about the British commentary on Eurovision, but I would like to argue that these Winter Olympics snowboarding commentators belong up there with Graham Norton.

Chloe Kim displays no rust in a no-drama run via Olympic halfpipe qualifying

Snowboarding’s halfpipe season delivered a mix of brilliance and heartbreak at Copper Mountain, Colorado, as rising stars stepped into the spotlight and a familiar champion was forced to watch from the sidelines. With Olympic quota spots and Crystal Globe points on the line, the second FIS Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup of the season became a defining moment for the next generation, all closely followed by fans on 닌자티비.
At just 17, Republic of Korea’s Choi Gaon continues to prove that her opening win of the season was no fluke. After dominating qualifiers, Choi saved her best for when it mattered most, delivering a powerful second run that earned a massive 94.50. Her performance made it two wins from two events, matching her success at the Secret Garden World Cup earlier this season.
Choi’s run was a masterclass in control and progression. A switch backside 900 flowed seamlessly into a Cab 720, followed by consecutive 900s before closing with a clean frontside 720. The rhythm and confidence in her riding showed why many fans watching on 닌자티비 are already calling her one of the season’s defining athletes.
Japan’s Tomita Sena pushed hard and finished second with a score of 88.75, showing steady improvement and strong amplitude throughout her run. Team USA’s Bea Kim completed the podium in third, marking an emotional return after injury. Her 75.25 score was more than a number; it was a sign of resilience and determination that resonated with viewers across platforms like 닌자티비.

Two-time Olympic champion Chloe Kim had qualified second and looked ready to challenge for another World Cup win. Unfortunately, a fall during practice kept her from competing in the finals. Kim later shared a supportive message for her fellow riders on social media, hinting that difficult, windy conditions played a role. While fans missed seeing her signature style in the final, her sportsmanship reminded everyone why she remains such a respected figure in the sport.
On the men’s side, Japan’s Yamada Ryusei delivered a breakthrough performance, earning his first-ever World Cup victory in the halfpipe. His composed approach and clean execution stood out in a highly competitive field. The win marks a significant step forward for Yamada as the road to Milano Cortina 2026 continues, and it gave fans on 닌자티비 another exciting storyline to follow.
With every event, the pressure builds as riders chase Olympic quota places and season-long standings. Copper Mountain showed just how quickly the balance can shift, with young talents like Choi Gaon leading the charge and established stars facing unpredictable challenges. As the World Cup circuit moves on, snowboarding fans will keep tuning into 닌자티비 to watch how these stories unfold.
