I need to get back to work instead of posting about this but I really really really like the Norse God of War games and the world they are in. It’s really just a joy for me to be in, and the writing is good enough that I end up enjoying almost every cutscene. The way that the story and lore is told to you really works well for me. I love every way they implemented a character and item and event from the mythology. And I love Ragnarök for so many reasons, but the fact they squished two games into one is not usually one of them. In most cases, media should not be stretched out artificially, but in interviews the creators said that they could probably fit the rest of the story in one game, so that’s what they did and that makes me kind of wish they didn’t. Its not only because I wanted longer in the nine realms, but I do have less confidence in them doing as well with Egypt (reported and heavily expected next setting) because there seems to be absolutely no reason any of the characters would go there. I am eagerly awaiting what they do next, but given the next project (the God of War Trilogy Remake) has no real trailer or release date and that they have just put out a 2D prequel (Sons of Sparta) as an appeasement for the expected wait, Its probably another year before trailer and 2 before release at least. And that’s before the entire Santa Monica studio switches to the Egypt games.
And I want to reiterate that when you have a complete story that it usually should be executed in less pieces than more, House of the Dragon S2 could have done with having more happening if it meant less total seasons, but in this one instance I would have liked to have more games that I am sure I will enjoy than quicker on to ones I’m less certain of.

finally, a new game i can play and enjoy! 🥹💕 this filled the void in my heart left by a certain game studio and remake…
first time playing a 2d scroller like this! so far i’m loving it 🥺 i love the gameplay and the gorgeous soundtrack made by none other than bear mccreary himself! also little kratos is very endearing and cute 😭🩷 the banter with his younger brother deimos is adorable (which btw omg i can totally see parts of atreus’ personality in him 🥺 future nephew is so much like his uncle)
