Brief #4 Gamecontrollers
Spillet vi valgte var thumb war. Det er et enkelt 2player spill hvor hver spiller har en knapp hver. Utfordringen lå derfor i å lage en engasjerende opplevelse ut av et ellers ganske monotont og (fra mitt perspektiv: kjedelig spill). På starten av prosessen var det mye uenighet i hvilket spill vi skulle velge og vi ble til slutt nødt til å bare gå for noe. Da spillet var valgt kom vi fort igang med å skisse ideer og vi jobbet godt som gruppe, det var JA mentalitet all the way. Vi så fort at vi måtte gjøre spillet vanskeligere, det er et timing basert spill som er lett å spille på et tastatur. Vi forsøkte derfor å komme opp med ideer som gjør timingen vanskeligere. Store muskelgrupper er trege og vi tenkte derfor på knebøy som god måte å utfordre spilleren. Å sette seg opp og ned på en stol med en elektrisk bleie er gøy å se på fordi det er så utrolig teit. Vi testet også andre mockups av gamecontrollere, blant annet en ball som henger fra en snor, en diger tommel festet på hodet, håndholdte controllere og diverse iterasjoner på disse. Til slutt endte vi tilbake på knebøy/sette seg ned, vi laget to tomler i papp som man skulle sette seg på, men på grunn av pappens strukturelle egenskaper måtte vi korte dem ned mye mer enn først tenkt. Vi endte til slutt opp nesten der vi startet, nemlig på knebøy med bleie.

The Design
Compared to its older version, the Xbox One controller adopts a much sleeker and minimalist style. The control frame is noticeably sleek, especially when viewed from the edges. Next, you will find that it is much more selective in incorporating control info and colours. In comparison to previous model Home button now adopts a subtle silver instead of loud green highlights.imply place your phone or other Qi-enabled device on the center of the pad and PowerWave will do the rest.
The Analogue Sticks
The analogue sticks have been improved with thumb grips, which now consist of a concave centre portion and a micro-textured ring to prevent thumb slipping.
The D-pad
The brand new, redesigned D-pad is the source of much joy in the gaming community. The new D-pad is placed in a concave depression instead of a protrusion which makes it handier, although some may find it too tactile and loud to match their preferences.
The Shoulder Buttons and Triggers
The triggers are broader and easy to grasp and have their own vibration motors, contributing towards more immersive and accurate rumble functionality for some games. These also have better resilience to pressure than the old triggers.
The shoulder buttons are also bigger but have no extra functions. They are, therefore, more comfortable but still quite “clicky.”

The Batteries
The controller uses two separate AA batteries as a power source instead of an integrated battery. These can usually last up to 40 hours depending upon the battery quality.
And while Microsoft does not recommend the use of rechargeable AA batteries, they do sell a special rechargeable battery as part of their charging kit. If you don’t want to pay extra for the official charge kit, there are other third-party batteries that you can use.

Connectivity
Aside from micro USB, expansion port and 5 mm jack, the Xbox One controller has wireless connection capabilities. Both Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless are included in this. Xbox Wireless has a higher throughput than Bluetooth since it uses a higher-frequency signal, which is particularly useful to connect four or more controllers to a device, or if you want two controllers to be able to use stereo headsets simultaneously. However, for a single controller, one is not necessarily better than the other.
