Day 24 of The Arcana Inktober: Favourite Familiar in Human form!

Obviously, my favourite familiar is Faust~ The most affectionate girlie and most involved snake~ When it came to designing Faust, the one (1) thing that I KNEW I wanted for her human design was a long bubble braid to emanate the snake vibe and match the pattern on her scales that has the connected oval energy. There’s lots of circles and pearls in her accessories and hair ties to also tie in those snake patterns~

You can barely see her outfit, but I was taking inspiration from Asra and his parents Aisha and Salim. Human Faust has a scarf wrapped around her waist and a shirt with a v neck that would button up to the collar. I settled on pink to compliment her red eyes, and of course, I drew her in the palace garden since that’s definitely one of her favourite places to hang out~

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

(Faust (unknown last name))

Aliases: The Entertainer, Kassu (kahs-soo)

Pronouns: Any & all, does not disclose his gender openly, though they don’t care if people figure it out. Biologically male

Sexuality: Androphilic

Height: 5’9

Age: 19

Birthday: December 12th

Special Fact: Learned all of his magic tricks, acrobatic skills, sleight of hand, etc., from watching entertainers and jesters perform when he was a child.

Character: Grew up in poverty and became a slave at a young age, though he often escaped. However, he is discovered (and thus, rescued) by Camden and instantly idolizes him for the act. Faust is Camden’s right hand man and refuses to leave his side. Regardless, Faust is still very much a mischievous trickster. He is a bit easily entertained, and is quite good at many means of entertainment such as puppetry/ventriloquism, flexibility, juggling, magic tricks, card tricks, etc. They are clever, theatrical, and often joking, sometimes crudely. While he is not an official jester or minstrel, he still partakes in that line of work solely for the fun of it.

Reference/s: (TBA, I will be finishing these as soon as possible, thanks for your patience! <3)

Crew: Hand of Judgment (HoJ)

Position: First Mate & Lookout

Harpy Faust

You were walking home, your eyes drawn to the sky. The sun was slowly sinking toward the horizon, painting the heavens in rich, darkening shades that heralded the end of the day. The air was cool and seemingly calm, until it happened.

In the blink of an eye, strong talons clamped around you. You felt a violent tug, the loss of solid ground, and a weightless sensation that choked your throat.

It was half gasp, half shriek, as a force you couldn’t explain lifted you high above the trees.

The wind roared around you, icy and merciless. The ground receded so fast that your vision blurred. You tried to struggle free, but the grip was too tight, too certain. A fall would be fatal.

Finally, you stopped fighting. You closed your eyes, simply hoping this wouldn’t end in a final impact.

The journey seemed endless until your abductor released you. The landing on the straw-lined bottom of the nest was hard, but it cushioned what would have been certain pain.

You lay there for a moment, struggling to catch your breath. When you finally looked around, you realized you were in an enormous nest high in the crown of an ancient tree.

Moonlight filtered through the branches, casting weak, silvery rays on the walls. With a soft thud, he landed not far from you.

Not a man. Not entirely. He looked like a man. He was slender, tall, dressed in a dark cloak that draped over his shoulders. But the wings behind his back were massive, dark blue to black, gleaming like charcoal in the moonlight. With every movement, there was a slight rustling of feathers.

Golden eyes fixed on you. Intense, penetrating, sending a shiver down your spine. Slowly, almost elegantly, he approached you. He knelt and tilted his head as if truly studying you.

“Interessant,” he muttered in a deep voice with a harsh German accent. “Such a flawless… specimen.”

“Who are you?” you managed to gasp out. “Why did you kidnap me?” you asked, your voice trembling. The man, the creature, smiled. It was not a friendly smile. It was the smile of someone convinced of their superiority. A predator’s smile.

“My name is Johann Georg Faust,” he introduced himself, almost formally. “And you have been selected for my experiments.”

“Experiments?” Your heart clenched.

“Do not be afraid,” he said, though his tone did little to inspire confidence. “I will not harm you… for now. You are too valuable to me.” He paused for a fraction of a second, as if contemplating exactly what to say about you.

“You are… peculiar. Not… entirely ordinary,” he finally said.

“I’m just a normal girl!” you protested.

“Mm… nein.” His eyes narrowed. “There is something in you, and I will find out what it is.” He stood, smoothing his sleeve before looking at you again. “This will be your temporary home. Escape is futile. I can see in complete darkness. I track movement from miles away. You cannot fly, and the fall is fatal.” He laughed quietly. Coldly.

The days that followed were not as terrible as you had initially thought, but neither were they pleasant. Faust kept you in isolation, coming and going with clockwork regularity.

Sometimes he brought you food, sometimes he measured your pulse, and sometimes he simply wrote down your reactions to various stimuli.

But he never harmed you. His nest was a mixture of the scent of old books, dried herbs, and parchment dust. His instruments whirred, clicked, and occasionally sparked with a faint blue light. When he concentrated, his large wings gently swayed in the slight breeze.

Faust was strangely fascinating. He spoke extensively about magic, science, and theories that were beyond your comprehension. He possessed the fire of genius. And at the same time, a complete awkwardness in dealing with a living human being.

One evening, you finally summoned the courage.

“Faust,” you addressed him as he placed a wooden bowl of food down. “Why do you keep me up here? I’m telling you, I am not special.”

He looked at you. For the first time, he didn’t seem invincible. His golden eyes were tired, heavy.

“You are mistaken,” he said quietly. “I see the potential in you. You are rein. Pure. Stable. And… calm despite the situation.” His voice broke. “That is fascinating.”

“But I’m not a specimen. I have a life. A family,” you said carefully, inching closer. The word clearly affected him.

“A family…” he repeated. “I do not.”

In that moment, something shifted around him. The icy barrier that encased him cracked. When you placed your hand on his arm, he stiffened. Not in fear, but surprise. And then his body relaxed, as if he wanted to grow accustomed to your touch.

“You don’t have to be alone, Faust,” you said softly. His breath caught, and then he seemed to realize something.

Liebe…?” he whispered, as if trying out an unknown spell. “Love? I had not… planned for that in my hypothesis.”

“Perhaps some things can’t be planned.” This time, you smiled. He was silent for a moment, then lowered his head.

“I no longer want to study you,” he finally admitted. “I want to… know you. Nicht als Objekt. As… a person.”

The hand reaching for your face was tentative, almost trembling. He touched you with the tips of his talons, as if afraid you would dissolve.

“To be with you,” he added in a whisper.

“Then let me go home. And we can start over.” Your heart constricted with tenderness.

Faust looked down into the darkness below. His wings stretched, and the tucked-in feathers rustled. It took him a long few seconds.

“Very well,” he breathed out. “I will come with you… I will stay with you. If you allow it.” And then he smiled, an unsure, genuinely authentic smile for the first time.

Du bist mein Schatz,” he said quietly. “Meine Liebe…” And this time, it didn’t sound like a claim. But a confession.

[reposting stuff from twitter]

So I have this au about mephisto and faust on the run from 2024 (it’s a visual novel in my head but im not going to write it fr cuz my writing skills are the closest to zero as it humanly possible)

Set on modern au in 90’s, the plot is; Eno accidentally kills his father in a self-defense, and Sasha decides to help him cover up and run from the police. 2 kids on their own with limited money they have, of course, wouldn’t be able to survive on their own for too long until they start resorting to crimes & illegal means. It starts from a little pickpocketting and shoplifting, and then working with drug dealers and excessively more and more dangerous works. Sasha noticing how nonchalant and indifferent Eno is towards hurting others and committing crimes starts realizing that maybe his friend wasn’t a kind innocent boy he once thought to be. As Eno and Sasha keep falling out from each other further and further as days pass, Eno, for the first time, questions his own ‘normality,’ the cause of his total failures to connect and fit in with others beside Sasha. (He can’t even connect with sasha he just thinks he does)

something something psychological horror vibe. There’re 2 main endings in my head rn, the first is Sasha hands both of them over to the police and takes the accountability of all Eno’s murder, another is an ending where Sasha and a heated argument with Eno and ending up pushing him down the stairs or somewhere high idk essentially accidentally kills his friend whom he dedicated everything for. Yippee
