are you up there?
just give me a signal, i’m reaching you now.
and you’ve proved once again
in the bubble, in the bubble that
you only need your own air to breathe
and a knife in the bubble says
it’s not killing unless the killing is serial
I FINALLY LOG IN ON MY TUMBLR ACCOUNT ON MY NEW IPHONE 3G BROOO
There will be posts in next few days!! What so you wanna see, Little Bats?💿💿
Painting broad strokes of black brings blood down my head
I can’t handle anymore phone calls telling me another friend is dead
And I miss your laugh, and I miss your smile
It’d be nice to hear from you every once in a while, but you’re gone
I will never be able to ask how you’ve been
Or where you are or how could I lose another friend?
I tried to destroy me too
Hell only knows what I’ve been through
So I left my regrets at the foot of my bed
And I promised when I’m older, I wouldn’t forget
How to cut myself open just to rinse myself clean again
Your death hangs over my every move
Everything is a constant reminder of you
So you haunt me, so you haunt me
So that I can haunt you too
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
I can haunt you too if you want me to
Somehow I’ve ended up on the teenager/very early 20s emo/scene side of tiktok and as someone who started emo in 2003, I would like to remind everyone that the massive teased hair and super dark and heavy eyeliner and intense outfits were NOT “traditional” emo. We wore our hair straight ironed as flat as possible with the heavy side bangs and while we did wear eyeliner, it wasn’t nearly as heavy as it’s stereotyped to be. 2003 Avril Lavigne is the perfect example of how early emo girls did our hair and makeup and 2003 Conor Oberst is what early emo boys looked like. Original emo was not so much about looking a certain way, but about the music.
We also mainly wore skinny jeans, either dark wash or black, either Chucks, Vans, or even Etnies that we drew and wrote all over. We wore band tees or shirts we drew all over or even plain shirts with safety pins or other DIY, but emo wasn’t mainly about fashion or an aesthetic per se, but about the music. Even though you absolutely did have to have a black zip up hoodie and messenger bag and wear a studded belt with the buckle on your hip, not the middle of your pants.
Also, most of us couldn’t afford Hot Topic, so we had to make our own shit.
The scene/emo crossover began around 2007 and even then, it wasn’t the bright neon nonsense people think it was. That was later, around the 2010s, and no self-respecting emo kid ever dressed that way. That was when it became less about the music and more about the fashion and style.
I couldn’t imagine a life where I’m not either skinny or emo

I’m aware I’m insufferable
“you would die just to be poetry! (oh so woe is me!)”
