I’m only just relearning how to draw (skill regression is a b*tch) and this isn’t my best work, I like how the colors look!

🍼Little Speech Guide🧃

here’s a quick guide to how toddlers & little kids actually talk and learn language!! mostly because i don’t see many people posting this sorta thing who are comfy with kink interaction.

remember, if you’re going for realism: don’t overdo it!

(Simplified info based on patterns parents & speech therapists see often)

🍼 Around 1 year 💤

- first words!!

- mostly only important things (mama, dada, milk, ball, dog)

- one word sentences

“milk”, “ball”, “up”, “dog”, “cat”

- speech sounds are usually p, m, b, n, h, w

- may point or gesture while saying words

🎀 Around 2 years 🫧

- mostly two word phrases

“want juice”, “need blankie”

- new sounds appear: k, g, t, d, f, y

- beginning grammar: -ing, -s, simple past tense

- learning little words, a, the, is, on

- … and negatives! no, nuh-uh

earlier speech patterns still very common!!

🌈 Around 3 years ☀️

- usually 2-4 word sentences

“gimme nana”, “bring bankie”, “you go ni-ni”

- vowel sounds are developed

- learning sounds like r, l, s, z, sh, ch (still often incorrect)

- starting to combine ideas with words like and, because

speech is becoming more understandable, but harder sounds are still simplified

🖍️ Around 4 years 🍀

- sentences around 4-5 words

“‘m sleepy, hold me please”, “look at the kitty cat!”

- speech starts sounding more like adult speech

- harder sounds like v, j, th are developing

- fewer simplification patterns

some sounds (especially r, l, th) may take a bit longer to master

🧃 “Little” Speech Patterns 🖍️

Reduplication: repeating syllables

- wawa (water), baba (bottle), mama, dada

example: “my baba,” “dada go work?”

Final consonant deletion: dropping the last sound

- boo (book), ca (cat), do (dog)

example: “read boo!” “see ca!”

Gliding: r / l -> w / y

- weaf (leaf), wook (look)

example: “look at da weaf!” “come wook dis!”

Cluster reduction: simplifying two consonants

- tay (stay), top (stop), banket (blanket), pasketti (spaghetti)

example: “want pasketti!” “top dat!!”

Substitution: replacing a sound with an easier one

- lellow (yellow), dat (that), dere (there)

example: “dere i am!” “dat mine!”

🍎 Other Pronunciations 🌈

banana -> nana

pizza -> pisa, pita, peesa

blanket -> blankie, bankie, banket

pillow -> pih-yo

pajamas -> jamas, jamjams, jammies

diaper -> die-per, dipey, dipe

pull-up -> pu-up, puhwup, puppy-up

I was able to get a new onesie, pj pants, and paci clip set from ODU due to them having a sale (I can really only afford to shop sales) and I’m having a hard time deciding if I should get them now or not. Obviously I’d love to get them now but my CG has the plan of making me a little mystery box like you can find on Etsy and I was gonna put them towards that. I already have a onesie set I bought around Valentine’s day that is for the little box and my CG says it would be fine for me to have it cause I could probably get more during another sale or buy from another shop who has a sale but idk I just feel like it should probably go to that. What do you guys think?
