Transform Your Clutter into Cash: The Responsible Spring Cleaning Guide

The task of spring cleaning often appears like an insurmountable undertaking. What’s the initial step? How can one ascertain completion? Instead of encountering a mental impasse, render the endeavor more attainable by employing these suggestions.
Begin by delineating “spring cleaning.” It actually comprises two distinct activities: decluttering and deep cleaning. Refrain from attempting both…

This is more of what I’ve decluttered. Some items I will sell (especially the Winx pocket computer thingy), most I will donate. I know a great thrift store for all those tiny toys!

Some of these items, like the pink stand mixer toy, are very nostalgic. I carefully cleaned them, and I hope they will find a new home where some kid wil play with them again :)

How Does One Stop Losing Scissors Using A Two-Home System

Scissors have a special talent. You buy a pair, you use it for one tiny job, and then it disappears like a sock in a dryer. Later, you find it in a junk drawer, a kid’s backpack, or next to the tape you swore you put away.

The fix isn’t buying more scissors (although we’ve all tried that). The fix is giving your scissors a predictable life with a two home system, so your hands stop guessing and…

How Does One Stop Remote Controls From Vanishing With One Basket

Remote controls don’t just get “lost.” They slip into couch seams, hide under throw blankets, and somehow end up in bedrooms that don’t even have a TV.

If you live with kids, roommates, or a busy brain, the problem isn’t forgetfulness. It’s that the home has no clear finish line for the remote. A single remote control basket gives it one.

The goal is simple: every remote has a parking spot, and…

Princeton researchers found that clutter creates visual noise in the brain—hurting memory, focus, and productivity. ALT

Clutter is not harmless. Princeton University researchers found that excess visual stimuli compete for attention, reducing focus and mental clarity. Clearing unused tech cuts noise and restores cognitive space for better work. 🧠💻

How Does One Set Up A 10-Minute Freezer Inventory So Food Stops Vanishing

If your freezer eats food like a polite monster, you’re not alone. You buy the peas, freeze the soup, stash the chicken, and then, somehow, it’s all gone when you need it. Or worse, it’s still there, just disguised under five bags of “something flat.”

A freezer inventory doesn’t need to be a big project. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s stopping the daily guessing game, so you waste less food,…

How does one set up an 8-minute “laundry sort station” (colors, towels, delicates) so clean clothes stop living in baskets

Clean laundry has a special talent. It’s the only thing in the house that can be both finished and unfinished at the same time. Washed, dried, folded (maybe), then abandoned in a basket like it’s waiting for a ride.

An 8-minute laundry sort station fixes that by giving laundry a “home base” with clear lanes: Colors, Towels, Delicates, plus one more spot that matters just as much, the basket that…

Declutter your house

I interpreted this as sort out all of your clothes and send them to Vinnies, which I have done gradually with way too many breaks in between!

Anyway I have finally done a first pass through my wardrobe, which technically means I am willing to wear every single piece of clothing in there - and I guess if I’m not I have to get more comfortable with throwing it out.

I am living a much more structured life these days and slowly slowly getting the balance right I think. I haven’t felt unhappy for a very long time which is nice. I don’t know what is next goal wise - I think overall I will strive for better clothes management haha and try to incorporate that into my routine.

I hope that my life is only getting better and more settled from here and 2026 is good to me.

I guess I will continue to set some goals and see where we go from there :)

I have my daily diary now which is making me reflect more, and being able to run my thoughts by Callum is helpful too I think. But yes, a very fresh goal achieved for the new clinical year, I guess we see how we go from now - I want to balance my study and friends and personal goals well this year because it’s quite a stressful one, particularly towards the end of it I think.

I start nights on Thursday and usually that’s quite hard for me in terms of getting things done so I need to plan a schedule for that tonight too!

Thought experiment - 2200 : r/declutter

I like this: If I tried really hard to sell my stuff, could I get $200 out of it? Yeah, probably. Would I pay $200 for the ability to snap my fingers and have all of the unwanted stuff out of my living room instantly, without worrying about it? Absolutely. So, just give the stuff away for free and get the living room cleared up immediately for free. It’s a win-win!

Why Your Home Looks Messy (Even When It’s Clean)

👉 Why Your Home Looks Messy Even When It’s Clean

This one hits a little too close to home 😅

You clean.
You tidy.
Everything is technically in its place…

…and somehow your home still looks messy.

You’re not doing anything wrong.
Most of the time, it’s not about dirt — it’s about visual clutter.

Things like:

  • too many small items out
  • furniture that’s slightly too big
  • open storage with no balance
  • and nothing having a clear “home”

Even clean spaces can feel chaotic when there’s no breathing room.

I put together a simple, honest guide explaining why homes look messy even when they’re clean — and what actually helps (without deep cleaning or buying new stuff).

If you’ve ever felt confused or frustrated by this, you’re not alone.

Doings Around The Homestead

This week saw the Snowpocalypse moved into North Central Arkansas. The weather was frightfully cold, down to 7 degrees Fahrenheit. As I write this it is only 11 degrees outside. I am so thankful for my wood stove. Although it took several loads of wood to keep us warm, it has done a fabulous job compared to past heating methods.

The wood stove is inexpensive to keep fueled. Oftentimes, I can…

Journal entry/ Declutter Progress

On one hand, I spent last weekend absolutely scrubbing down every metal and porcelain surface in my apartment with the scrub daddy power wash. My faucets are so shiny, I’m proud. It feels so great. Also washed my mirrors.

On the other hand, I didn’t get around to literally anything else, I was so tuckered out that I turned into a vegetable. I have a whole closet to go through, I’m going to try to do that today as well as putting a bookshelf I don’t need to the curb. I cant figure out where for the life of me, but I can tell my cat is peeing somewhere other than his box. I can smell it but I can’t find it. I purchased a new box for him, a bigger one, so hopefully he’ll use that.

I’ve been on the hunt for any discord servers and online groups for this type of thing, if anyone knows any, please feel free to send them. I’m trying really hard to get this all done, I’m trying to build self discipline about my home to make it feel nice but keep burning myself out.

Current focuses this week:

🖤 Clothes and closets:

Get rid of extra clothes, find good pieces to sell to a local consignment store for some extra cash. Donate or thrash the others, I have a lot of old clothes that I have worn to shreds from high school. I don’t need them anymore and it would free up so much space to get rid of.

🖤Living Room:

Finish sorting through extra moving boxes and the boxes of shit my ex gave me. They’re taking up unnecessary space. Maybe fix bookshelves. Priority is clearing the floor, though.

🖤 Art Space:

Heavy, heavy declutter on the art supplies. I don’t need yarn or any of the other hobbies I haven’t touched in years. Hoping to give them to friends. This will be started this weekend, I don’t think I’ll finish it. I hope to at least clear out a few drawers

DeCluttering Your Space Can Decrease Spending

Were a few weeks into the New Year. Outside of Winter Birthdays, there’s a cool down period for spending. The plethora of Valentines displays may offer a rebuttal. Technically, that can wait. Unless, your the type to get VDay shopping done early, there’s no need to put extra pressure on your wallet. That being said, it’s still tempting to buy frivolous things, because of the dopamine that…

WHERE CAN YOU REDUCE CLUTTER IN YOUR LIFE?

Making Room for God, Purpose, and Peace

Modern life is crowded.

Our schedules are crowded.

Our minds are crowded.

Our phones are crowded.

Our hearts can even be crowded.

Yet God is a God of order, not chaos.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” – 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)

The question, “Where can you reduce clutter in your life?” is not merely about tidying your home or desk —…

Decluttering Isn’t Always About Stuff

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

Clutter isn’t always about a messy room. Sometimes, it’s the things we keep holding onto physically, digitally, and emotionally that quietly drain our energy.

When we think of decluttering, we often imagine wardrobes and storage boxes. But clutter exists in many areas of life, and reducing it can create space for clarity, peace, and growth.

1. Your…
