[[MORE]]It’s been a week, and it’s been SO FUN! This little fucking digital audio player is literally my pride and joy.
I’ve finally gotten around to listening to so many albums on my list!
I don’t know. On top of all the other shit that makes spotify terrible, the overwhelming wealth of choice just meant that I… didn’t choose. I let the algorithm (usually badly) choose for me, or I would stick with the same songs I always listened to. All the albums I wanted to listen to just stayed on my list… developing cobwebs.
The minute I quit, I finally downloaded a bunch of them, and I’ve found the time to sit and listen to them all the way through. Multiple times! Absolutely insane.
This seems so paradoxical, but I guess it’s called the paradox of choice for a reason.
I’ve made a huge, ever-growing spreadsheet of artists and albums I want to explore, and I’m slowly making my way through! I’m listening to music the way I used to again, and it’s great!
I also bought a secondhand Hitachi AX-M66 CD player on ebay. She should arrive sometime this week (she’s also beautiful. really rocking that y2k charm yk). Hopefully, it’ll work fine ~fingers crossed~. I bought some used CDs from my local thrift store, and I’ve got a load more used ones I plan on buying online once I get paid.
It’s completely changed my relationship with music for the better. My brain pretty much instantly rewired itself, and I can’t tell you how much I don’t miss streaming. It’s been so fun perusing through albumoftheyear.org and wikipedia looking for new artists. The streaming algorithms are so unintentional and keep you in your assigned listening bubble: my listening is so much more diverse now for quitting!
It’s only been a week, and I’ve already gotten so much out of this. Genuinely one of the best decisions I’ve made!

I just want a blog to do whatever I want tbh so im going to post here :3
After much deliberation, I finally gave in~ i finally got a digital audio player I went with this one because it was the most affordable.
I tried like so hard to buy something that had buttons and didnt have a touch screen and honestly, getting back in touch with my CDs and digital music has been amazing. I dont really want to stream anymore.
I’ve been going on a huge nostalgia kick lately so…this has been fun :3
