Ach ja, nochmal was über Customisation in den Spielen.

das sind immer so Dinge, die ich eigentlich NULL berücksichtige, wenn ich über die Spiele rede. ist irgendwie komisch, aber nutzen tu ich das dennoch.
Ich hab sowas schon gemacht, aber jetzt ist ZA lange am Start und da ist es wieder besser seit SWSH.
SWSH aber immer noch beste, hab ich mehr gemocht, aber ZA hat auch gute kleine Dinge wie Farben für die Haare und so.

Meine fave Sache seit SWSH ist die Farben der Augenlinse. Hab ich seit damals immer diese farbenfrohe genommen, weil das einfach so lustig war und am coolsten aussieht. Ich mag so normale Farben eh nicht, sieht langweilig aus. ZA hat dann auch andere nette Augenfarben.
SV hat b echt wenig Kram, aber manche Handschuhe und Stirnbänder sehen gut aus, aber schade, dass man den Rest nicht so auswählen kann, weil es dann immer nur ne Uniform ist. Aber ich mag meinen Charakter dennoch, aber objektiv dennoch lahmer
SM ist so ein biased, weil ich manche Outfits machen, Färbebuden (die aber eh keiner in replays hat) und ich liebe Gen 7, aber ist jetzt nicht so krass bzw nicht besser als die anderen, weil Farben für Haare auch wenig Auswahl, Linsen sind eher meh, weswegen ich in meinem Main auch die Brille aus der Agentur habe, die ist cool.

The pronouns are not too much extra coding once the variable system is set up. I mostly just have to remember the brackets around stuff, which I do forget a lot. The verbs are harder for me to remember than the pronouns so a lot of times you get weird phrasing in the beta like “She do care” because I got the bracket around the pronoun but forgot it for “do/does” - which is always amusing.

Though sometimes it is tricky to think of a neutral version of a particular noun. And sometimes, it’s weird because natural phrasing for different sentences can vary a lot. So sometimes something like “individual” sounds better in a sentence where in another sentence, “person” sounds better.

So there are all sorts of random lists that vary one or more noun because in a single, very specific instance….a different word sounded more natural to me….(man, woman, person…man, woman, individual…man, lady, person….guy, girl, person…) etc.

And yeah, unfortunately, I definitely have to pare back customisation though I did know going into WSC that 8 hairstyles was too much. But I wanted to try it anyway! (I actually created like…12 hairstyles for Wil but I knew that was WAY too much and scaled it back to 8). I do think going forward I will just default to MC always having some level of curly hair and stick to skin tone and sprite body customisation otherwise. The hair is honestly the biggest time sink for WSC customisation.

Pronoun options are here to stay for the foreseeable future, though. I like including them and writing in variations is certainly tricky at times - it’s always a balance of when to use neutral language or when some sort of body-specific or gendered language works better - but I think it’s worth it.

It’s worth it to me, it’s worth it to a lot of my current player base so I believe I’ll stick with it!

It was actually a lot of extra work to have the face option and not just some color swap, and it’s something which is part of our vision to offer diversity to our players. 💖 I know most team can’t afford such a thing, but our artist was eager to do and I am very proud of how it turned out ^^

(exclusive to queer and f!mcs)

i understand that all of this can be triggering to many. and that is why, you can choose to opt out of these scenes in the game! the mc will brush over the topic without diving too deep into it, so that you guys don’t miss out on anything!
