In Day of the Departed. General Cryptor is weirdly insistent that He and Zane share a familial connection, claiming that Dr Julien is “our dad” and I can only assume his logic is that since he is a Nindroid based on the same designs that Dr Julien created before he made Zane. But I think it would have been more interesting, or just more logical if Cryptor viewed Zane as own father.
Cryptor as well as the rest of the nindroids were a creation that was based on Zane’s original body and they were created by Pixal who scanned Zane’s hardware, tweaked the design, upgraded it with new features and then made the factory copy and paste the army of nindroids that included Cryptor. So I think it would’ve made for an interesting concept where Cryptor makes legitimate claims about being Zane (and Pixal’s) son, his heir, his successor or something like that. Idk it’s just never made sense to me that the writers tried to make cryptor talk about how he and Zane are family in a way without actually having it make some kind of sense.

Is it me or does this fandom not explore a dynamic between Kozu and Cryptor enough? They’re both lieutenants of the Overlord, more representative of his army than their creator, and as a result are chosen to represent their factions in Day of the Departed. They were automatons made by the Overlord, one with ancient magic and stone, the other with futuristic technology and metal. Back-to-back waves, while also taking orders from an outsider champion that the Overlord has allied himself with.
Do they like or dislike one another in Day of the Departed, do they bond over their shared loyalty to the Overlord, want to compete? Does Kozu brag about how he met the First Spinjitzu Master and was the Overlord’s original champion, while Cryptor dismisses him as outdated, with the Overlord needing to look to the future to succeed? One is a luddite and the other is a tech bro. It’s like Krux and Acronix, and tbh Kozu and Cryptor kind of ARE brothers.
