Mehr oder minder bin ich mit den Anfängen von Computern aufgewachsen, weil vor allem mein Vater großes Interesse daran hatte. Das ging irgendwann mit Amiga los und auch der erste richtige PC mit Windows irgendwas ließ nicht lange auf sich warten. Doof war da oft nur, dass ich eher wenig Ahnung von der Technik und mehr Typ „ich probier so lange rum, bis es funktioniert – oder raucht“ war – die Tage, an denen mein Vater alles neu aufsetzen musste, kann man nur schwer an zwei Händen abzählen. Aber hey, muss ja auch nicht an mir gelegen haben, wir reden hier schließlich von Windows.
Dennoch hat das irgendwie den Grundstein gelegt, dass ich heute einigermaßen fit auf dem Gebiet bin. Für eine Karriere als Entwickler hat es zwar nicht gereicht, aber ein gewisses Wissen ist durchaus da, was immerhin dafür sorgt, dass diese Seite hier schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat und ebenfalls eine ganze Weile selbst gehostet wird. Oder anders gesagt: Ich bin zwar kein Experte, hab dann aber vielleicht doch ein bisschen mehr Ahnung als mein näheres Umfeld.
Doch mittlerweile merk auch ich, wie es langsam schwerer wird, mitzuhalten. Wo mein Vater den Anschluss der technischen Entwicklung im Bereich normaler Computer, Smartphones und Smartwatches verpasst hat, ist es bei mir das Ganze Thema KI. Klar, mittlerweile nutz ich den Kram auch regelmäßig, einigermaßen produktiv und den einen oder anderen Kniff beherrsch ich auch. Aber so das ganze Grundverständnis, wie was mit wem zusammenwirkt, welche Möglichkeiten es wirklich gibt und wo jetzt die Unterschiede zwischen den einzelnen Modellen (selbst innerhalb von ChatGPT) liegen … da bin ich raus. Da reicht dann auch das klassische „ich weiß ungefähr, wie mans benutzt und meistens tut es wie es soll“ aus.
So ein bisschen muss es auch den Leuten gegangen sein, die damals ihre ersten Berührungen mit Computern gemacht haben. Heute sorgt das vielleicht nur noch für ein müdes Lächeln, aber damals war sowas wie Hardware und Software eben der neue Scheiß, den man erstmal verstehen muss:
