Why is he fabulous? Well let me count the ways. Not only does he go into the tropical wilderness where alligators 🐊and nameless creatures hang out in the Florida swamps (with Brandon – my new son-in-law) to chop down bananas 🍌from my mom’s may banana trees but he was a champ at helping me get everything ready for Alexa and Brandon’s wedding!🤩 Many helped but Eric ran along with me the entire weekend until they said I do. Guys, we can wake up every day and bitch about all the injustices going on in the world right now OR we can wake up, look around our own space and find 100 things to be grateful for.💯🙌🏼 I personally choose to look around at my blessings than go around screaming and yelling about things that I cannot change. I can play my part and vote and support the movements that are going on but I don’t have to let that blind me from all the things I am indeed grateful for because there are so many that I can embrace if I choose to and I do.👌🏼⁣

To me, this is best represented by how the shared, collective wisdom embedded within our advocacy communities has genuinely changed our engagement with a severely flawed healthcare system.

More and more, the benefits of this kind of tribalism have significantly improved how we information-seek and make shared, objective decisions when confronted with what I am now referring to the consumer oncology marketplace.

More colloquially, I’m talking about when you have to start shopping in “the cancer store” and buy things you never wanted to purchase like surgery and chemo. Then, you hope your insurer covers the items in your cart with a Groupon.
