HoomanStudio. They do mostly web and app design, but they also do illustrations, logos and packaging design.
This studios aligns with me as a designer, because both of them look like they have a good work ethic and encourage creativity and fun in their designs without being unprofessional.
I think they are a good fit for me, because they’re both small/medium size studios, which I find more appealing than a smaller studio or working by myself. Both of them do/ focus on a fields that I really enjoy, like packaging design, or in things that I want to get better at, like web and app design. I think there’s a lot of potential to grow personally and as a designer in both studios.
And on the other hand, I think I’m a good fit for them, because I can offerer them a fresh perspective for some projects as well as potential for international expansions because of all the different languages that I speak.

There’s a space in between finishing a rough cut and getting client notes where sometimes I fall in love with what I crafted in editing.
Fall in love?
Yeah. I watch the piece over and over. I don’t sit there thinking about how awesome I am… I simply can’t get enough of watching.
Over and over.
Notes are coming, of course. That’s not an issue. I have no problem with that because I’ve gotten wicked good at making changes look as if I meant to craft the piece this way from my first edit.
However, in my career, I got it completely wrong once. As in this is completely wrong.
Wait. Didn’t the producer/writer review my work before it went to the client???
Yup. They did.
And they absolutely loved it. As did another set of reviewer’s eyes on our side of the fence.
The client, however, was like this is completely wrong. And we started from scratch, delivering a fully approved and appreciated final cut on time despite the catastrophic set back.
It’s a happy ending, for sure. But after that one experience I’m always left with the possibility that somehow I’ve gotten my cut ridiculously wrong.

This morning, I had a therapy session with my new psychologist. As the session progressed, she was able to pinpoint that I am unmotivated.
