“By now, these five guys were giving these American audiences a boozy taste of their well established, British soaked, characteristically boisterous and high-spirited (in more ways than one) spectacle, for a good old knees-up in the sunny climbs of California.” Read on…
Some Things Never Change represented a deliberate return to the band’s earlier sound, using more organic recording techniques than on their previous studio album. The album features the single “You Win, I Lose”, which was a minor hit in Germany and also received considerable airplay in Canada. Two more singles were released commercially: “Listen To Me Please” and “Sooner or Later”. Rick Davies explained the concept behind the album cover: “It’s something to tie in with the title. In England, people have tea at four o'clock, and it doesn’t matter where they are or what sort of social plane they’re on, they will have that tea.”

Dusty Edinger releases: Welcome to Our Demise A shuffle-driven rock single that reframes heartbreak through a 70s lens.
Dusty Edinger returns with “Welcome to Our Demise,” a break-up song grounded in classic rock structure and direct songwriting. Known as both a drummer and singer-songwriter, Dusty builds the track around a steady shuffle groove that gives the song its sense of movement and tension. The rhythm section carries weight without going too over-the-top, allowing the arrangement to unfold with clarity.
Big guitar riffs from Derrick Gaddis sit at the center of the mix, while Billy Gewin’s bass line rides confidently beneath them. Mike Dimitri’s keys add subtle color, reinforcing the song’s 70s character. The vocal harmonies are tightly arranged, leaning into a melodic style that recalls the layered approach of bands like Electric Light Orchestra and Wings without drifting into imitation.
Lyrically, Dusty focuses on the shared realization that a relationship has reached its end. The tone is reflective rather than bitter, capturing the moment when both sides understand what is happening but cannot reverse it. Notably, the track was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Dusty in his home studio in 2025, with no outside collaborators or AI involvement.
With “Welcome to Our Demise,” Dusty Edinger delivers a straightforward, groove-driven take on romantic fallout.
