just saw a char aznable take so… misguided? might be the word i’m looking for here that i genuinely have never seen before at least not around here. like okay he is not a “good guy” he is flawed in his methods it’s shown time and time again. even if he had a point they didn’t just turn him into a genocidal maniac “all of a sudden”, i think there always has been a chance that that was how he was going to end up.
sure he has, i suppose, noble intentions for the spacenoids and all but it’s established early on that he has so many things going wrong with him in the head to really suceed in executing his father’s ideology. he isn’t exactly a revolutionary as much as he is hellbent on revenge and retribution at least for a solid part of his life.
imo it’s important to understand when a character isn’t just a vessel for ideas just so the plot can move forward but also a person whose worldview and conduct is heavily influenced by the things he experienced throughout his character arc (ironically though he did become a husk of a person who only sees himself as a carrier of his father’s ideals resulting from this development as we can see with neo zeon but again that is part of his character arc). i don’t think it’s a plot contrivance that he had a face-heel turn from zeta to counterattack esp when you consider what he’s been through since the one year war (and everything else we can glean from non-fully canon material like the origin). in other words
also part of the take that made me 🤔❓was that they were saying that gundam was really trying to paint the earth federation/UN as the good guys and like. that was never the agenda was it? as if one of universal century’s most recurring themes isn’t “the federation is not much better than zeon if at all”. but i digress

Body played a cruel joke on me i couldn’t sleep more than a few winks at night like it was only 20 minutes at a time until it was at 2:20 am (the time i usually get ready to heat up food for suhoor) where i decided to sleep in for a little which i then proceeded to sleep like a BABY until 11:54 am. what the hell……. First no suhoor day of this ramadan……
