Book Rec: Lovely War by Julie Berry

I checked this book out from the library in February and the moment I finished it I bought a copy for myself. Here it is the end of the year, and I am still thinking about it.

Lovely War is told through the eyes of the Greek goddess Aphrodite along with the Greek gods Hephaestus and Ares. This perspective allows glimpses into the storyline revolving around the gods themselves and highlighting the intricate thread of connection between four mortals during the World Wars. The events that are seemingly out of the mortals’ control give way to a bird’s eye view of the orchestration by the gods.

It is filled with hope and heartbreak, a five star read following the intimate forces of love and war.
