i hope everyone whos being racist about c4sh’s accent has all their savefiles across all borderlands games get corrupted and also their car stolen

ever since C4sh was revealed I speculated he had some sort of Space Magic up his sleeve and that belief was only reinforced as we got more info about him. But with today’s release of his full character page and skill trees it seems like I was correct. Keyword, seems.

They straight up call his abilities MAGICAL.

That’s something that Borderlands, to my knowledge, has never used before. Even when the narrative discusses Sirens, or the Bonded, their abilities are just called “powers”, said or implied to be extradimensional in nature. Y'know, standard scifi fare. But C4sh’s artifacts are not described as such.

Arguably, this isn’t the first time actual, non-Phase related, non-Eridian related magic has appeared in Borderlands. The witches of Eden-6, for example, seem to really wield at least some measure of it. The Bonded drew their power from Gythian, who was stated to be a Vault Monster, but most likely not one created by the Eridians (one of the “prisoners”), and their powers did not match up with anything the Sirens or Eternals or Anointed (which have somewhat similar abilities - we now know, or can at least infer, this is because of the Phase) were capable of doing. But there was always the implication of “actually this is just more Eridian shit” or “it’s a silly sidequest, don’t think about it”.

Of course, there’s the possibility the eldritch artifact C4sh possesses, and the statues with imprisoned minor eldritch deities, and the Heart of Gythian, aren’t related at all, or they all also draw their power from the Phase, so it’s all the same magic system as Sirens etc. But something tells me that neither is the case.

Anyways, this is incoherent and I’m sorry, but this one word is making my mind race at truly horrible speeds.

The gameplay overview for the newest vault hunter, C4SH is out! And this Rogue’s gameplay is so cool!:

• Just like Rafa, the camera goes in 3rd person as he goes full on gunslinger, locking onto enemies and shooting them up with duel revolvers. He even dashes, teleports and flies with his own jet boosters on his back!
• Whatever he rolls with his enchanted Bone Dice, it summons eldritch totems with different damage or buff effects! And apparently 4s and 10s have some extra special effects…
• His cards from the Deck of Kanansi when thrown deals a different spell for some major damage! It’s a hell of a prize for a CasinoBot who knows all the tricks of the trade…
• I finally placed that accent of his! It’s Jamaican! I was wrong about him having a more cowboy kinda accent, but the robotic distortion was fully there! So I was half right in my first post about him. His accent mixed with all these magic items, it makes me think of one Papa Midnite from DC comics, if he was a robot…

I seriously can’t wait to see him in action in the new DLC! I wonder if he’ll have his own character short, just like with the main 4 vault hunters… See you on March 26th, Vault Hunters!

Here are my fave reveals from the trailer and the DevCast:

• Mancubus (from BL3’s Guns, Love and Tentacles) is back and he’s running a speakeasy! A live jazz band was recorded to create the atmosphere of this location and I can’t wait listen!
• Moxxi being the reason we have to find Ellie, she really is a great mom…
• We all know Ellie’s back, but we also got Crazy Earl back! And I have a feeling he kept the door…
• They’re filling in some plot regarding Elpis and its residents, which means we get Space Australians, just like in Pre-Sequel!
• Speaking of Pre-Sequel, Dahl forces are back and still very much shootable, as are the Kraggons, but most importantly, everyone’s favourite little thief Pickle is back and he’s all grown up! Wonder how he’ll sound after all these years…
• Kairos has a tundra, and I don’t see any bit of leftover Order things there. Guess we should only worry about Kraggons and Dahl then…
• We got some official gameplay for the newest Vault Hunter, C4SH: The Rogue and now we also know how he’ll sound! His card tricks are awesome, but that voice! I can’t place the accent, but he sounds so cool!

Luckily, we don’t have to wait long, because it comes out March 26th! See you then, Vault Hunters…

I wish BL4 did better or came sooner or SOMETHING to the degree that the Borderlands fandom would still be as big as it used to, because Amara and Zane are SO GOOD returning in that game, and the new Vault Hunters are all so charismatic, I want to just……do dumb fandom stuff, play barbies with the fictional play things……………

I mean I have no qualms writing a t4t Harlowe x Zane fic myself BUT I JUST SAYING It’s a good game, it deserved more hype.

I feel like Gearbox raise the prise of Bl4 so people don’t buy it. Otherwise I can’t explain it. They raised the price for, like, 10k tenge and now it’s on sale with 30% off for its original release price? Are they out of their minds? At this point that kind of price is completely unreasonable.

Somehow I missed this ask, sorry about that! Honestly I don’t have a real minimum in mind, if it was so few that it wouldn’t really feel like a zine (for example, only 3 people), I probably would have cancelled it, but I think we’ve hit enough participants that even though it’s a small zine, it feels worth it to continue. Sorry this didn’t exactly answer your question but hopefully it’s a satisfactory answer!
