I’m currently really focused on the relationship between Ka-Lo and the God Children.

Basically, in this little religion thingy I made, there are these things called Keepers who humans accidentally breathed into existence by believing in them so heavily (imagine if like Greek Gods were real, but only because human belief created them). The Keepers aren’t actually Gods, despite their worshipers thibking so, and are rather the people who watch over and guard their domain.

Ka-Lo, in mythology, was thought to be a human who ascended to godhood. She’s the Keeper of Wind, Evolution, and Energy.

Later, a myth was put into place of the God Children (Boštivor-zhek), named Šri-Kam and Nir-Dy Zherima. The fable goes, roughly, that these two were also supposed to rise into being Gods until Nir-Dy was slain by a demon and Šri-Kam was cursed for eternity.

Šri-Kam’s curse was immortality with endless pain. His body is forever tearing itself apart and he can’t die. Ironically though, he is like an older brother figur to the Keeper of Death.

Anyway, Nir-Dy reincarnates like several millions years later in like. uhm. (wait fuck i forogt the timeline. in like 2005? (roughly) He’s now a little latino who I’m gonna traumatize :3

The reason I’m thinking about those three rn is that like Ka-Lo and the Curse she gives Šri-Kam and later Nir-Dy is a metaphor for Colonialism and White Supremacy. A side affect of the curse is the basically the bearer going into black and white. Their skin is an entirely colourless white void, you can’t tell where their hair ends and the night sky begins, and all that racist jazz.

Idk, I’ve just been thinking about them a lot. Still debating whether I should keep Šri-Kam cursed or give him a happy ending. Nir-Dy is getting a happy ending cause plot armour and also I feel bad for killing all of his parental figure ever. But idk if I’m gonna spare Šri-Kam.

So, for my own sake, I’m just gonna explain that in the current day, Shri-Kam goes under the names of “Eidrysh Velkan” or “Akron” and that, reincarnated, Nir-Dy is Andi Lujanac-Arredondo-D'arc.

In their first lives, Andi and Akron were raised in a similar way to siblings or family of some type. They shared the same myth, The God Children, and were insperab;e .Yada yada, who cares.

Boom, Ka-Lo sends a “demon” to kill Andi, Akron falls into a depression where three years later he tries to kill himself at the age of 17. The moment his heart stops beating, Ka-Lo’s curse falls into effect. His skin is stripped of it’s earthly, living colours and he becomes an achromatic, dying doll for Ka-Lo to torture and control for who even knows how long. When he’s not being beated and abused, he lives as an adult among mortals due to it simply being easier. At this point, his age is an abstract concept. He can change his physical form, he’s lived for millions of years at least, and he spent most of his time being at least 30 years old.

Then, in 2005, Andelka Lujanac-Arredondo is born, and he can feel her beating heart to moment it starts. He watches the child for over a decade, preventing as much physical harm as possible and preventing her death on many occasions. A moment comes when the chid is 14, and Akron comes to the startiling realization that this is exactly how old Nir-Dy had been upon his own demise, and finally meets the reincarnation face-to-face.

Andi quickly grows attatched to the alleged 16 year old and a sort of “situationship” forms. This will go on for three years, rapidly growing more and more dependant on Andi’s side as time goes on.

The reason why I’m so fixated on this is how fucked up but understandable it is. Akron is doing a terrible thing. This was his kind-of-brother in a past life who is now freshly fourteen and he’s grooming his to be dependant on him to prevent his possible death. At the youngest, assuming he hasn’t aged at all since his own death, Akron is 17 years old. A 17 year old is deliberately fucking and manipulating a 14 year old. It genuinely makes me sick to think about sometimes.

But then we get to the part where you may not like, you may not be okay with it, but you can understand why he’s doing this.

Akron was tortured by Ka-Lo, plain and simple. She tried her damn hardest to break him in any way a person can break for the purpose of evolution and glory. Akron was raised knowing her to be one of his Gods, and so he is implimenting similar tactics onto Andi because he knows it works from experience. He, himself, is revolted by what he’s doing but because it keeps working he can’t stop, he can’t let his lover, his brother, die a second time when he knows he can do something to prevent it.

it’s a whole thing about the cycle of abuse and, when the War Arc statrs, it’ll also be about how Andi, in position where he is 16 and leading a whole war against archaic forces, is still a child and thus still vulnerable.
