Hmmm. Good question. Very difficult too.
The first three Terminator movies are some of Nexus’ favorites. If they should be counted as a dystopia, given most of the story happens before the disaster. But the doom’s day always feels pressing near behind the corner.
Humans try to prevent Skynet’s creation over and over, but all they can do to protect the Connors and bind their time because it was Skynet who invented Time travel.
The story of Skynet is also a tragedy of sorts. Nexus interprets Skynet’s actions less as an act of hatered but as an act of fear. It reasoned that once humanity understand how dangerous it is would destroy it, Skynet had to destroy humanity first. And after all it did to humans, it never gets to win and they always kill it in the end. A self fulfilling prophecy.
The most realistic dystopia tho? That’s another subject entirely. Maybe another day in another post.
