My number one song. My number one artist. Predicted it from my first listen that it would take me over. It’s honestly one of the best songs that has come out in the past five years and I will stand by that.
I fucking love IDLES. They bought my passion back out amongst crippling depression and numbness. They made me express rage through yelling out and dancing alone in my house. I fucking love them. They reinvigorated my faith in modern rock music and the way it can be used to call out fascism and toxic cultures but also the importance of love and kindness at the same time. They rock so hard and then make me cry with joy and gratitude on the same album. I love Joe Talbot. I love IDLES. I’m proud that I spent my year with them 🥲

O quinto disco dos ingleses de Bristol demonstra versatilidade, alternando momentos mais dançantes e intensos com outros mais introspectivos (sobretudo, em “A Gospel”). Ótimas: “Gift Horse” (que tem "fuck the king” em um verso), “Roy”, “Grace” e “Dancer”.

IDLES - TANGK
I have been listening to this album for a couple of weeks now, and even though at the start I did not like it, it has grown on me.
I am not the biggest fan of Rock (is this rock?) and I’m not sure I’ll ever out it on just for fun…but maybe if I am feeling a certain mood, I know which songs I will gravite towards!
Favorite Song: I really enjoy Dancer. so to speak.
Least Favorite Song: I think Jungle? Mostly because it the one it gave less feelings? I almost didnt remember it.
Mood/Enviorament: It felt like driving at top speed in a city like Los Angeles in the middle of the night through a dangerous streets.
Thoughs and feelings: Is it just me, or this is kind of gay? I got a lot of queer feelings? Am I crazy? Let me investigate!
So they brits (I did got that from the accent) and this is their 5th album!
Of fuck, not gay, it was about a daugther, no wait! this is an album about love! All kinds of love, that kind of makes me like it a little bit more.
Score as an Album: An 8? (i a not a music critic, what do i know?

[Video] IDLES teilen Video zu “POP POP POP”!
Nach dem Release ihres aktuellen Albums “TANGK” im Februar (u.a. Platz #1 der Offiziellen UK-Album-Charts & Platz #2 in Deutschland), legen IDLES das Video zum Song “POP POP POP” nach.
Der Track, der als einer der Höhepunkte von “TANGK” gefeiert wird, ist wahrscheinlich auch einer, der am weitesten von dem abweicht, was man von IDLES erwarten würde. Ein düsterer, Hip-Hop-angehauchter Groove, der sich bedrohlich und grimmig seinen Weg bahnt, während Joe Talbots optimistische Lyrics mit den Begriffen “Freudenfreude” und “joy on joy” das Gleichgewicht zwischen dem Unheimlichen und dem Positiven halten. Untermalt wird das Ganze von schicken Visuals, die Talbot zwischen schneebedeckten Bergen in Island zeigen.
“It’s a song about the beauty of having a kid and understanding how lucky you are to have a kid”, erzählt der Frontmann und Sänger. “And there’s a sense of a cycle when you have a child, when you’ve lost a parent and a child. I have a very huge sense of gratitude and weight behind being a parent because of what I’ve lost.“
