what if Lissa is not the one to break the news to Soren? Perhaps a timeblind elf could take a good look at him and go “Ah! Here’s the catalyst!”

Or perhaps one of the starcouncil members could invade his dreams, tell him everything, and when he wakes up he only has glimpses of what happened and unexplainable dread

Opening of S6/ending of Leola flashback is so funny to me because I’m so in the midst of “waoh bisexual lighting”

Aaravos is grieving and then getting salt smashed in the wound.

If I had a nickle for every time I’ve grown very attached to a fave character who is outwardly really gruff and snarky but is that way because of lots of trauma including some survivor guilt but actually has a big heart that cares a lot especially for those who need/deserve it, and is also a trained fighter who doesn’t know how to properly relax and stop because of trauma even when they really need to and is very talented with a small to medium sized bladed weapon- I’d have 3 nickles. Which isnt a lot but its weird that its happened thrice.

A Dark Alternative: Chapter 62

Summary: In a world where the border between Xadia and the human lands never truly existed, humans and elves live along side each other, but not together. Years ago, Callum made an unlikely friend, one he thought long lost to time.

By chance, their paths cross again, but considering how much they’ve both changed, is it possible to rekindle their friendship?

Or have their differences become too much to overcome?

Pairing: Rayla/Callum

Rating: Mature

AO3 Link: A Dark Alternative

Callum tried to ignore the guards following along behind them. Since he was attacked, the presence of guards had become a usual occurrence, but he still felt like he was being watched.

Babied.

It wasn’t just him who might be a target though, and he’d never forgive himself if something happened to Rayla. Viren’s outburst at the meeting had vividly reminded him of the fact people were watching them. So far no-one had said anything directly, but Viren’s jibes today weren’t the first time someone had alluded negatively to their relationship.

The irritating games were almost more infuriating than direct confrontation. He could at least defend them both if people were arguing with him, but the whispers behind his back were insidious. Who knew what fantasies people were crafting, warped realities concocted to make him out to be as horrible as possible.

Or worse, making Rayla out to be.

I find it funny that in S2 Ep5, Viren says “When I close my eyes, I see fire raining down”, and then you look at the last episode with Viren and it’s ironic how he died in the same “vision” he was having when he was still a douche.

I know Claudia is going to have Luna Devorans as her boyfriend. But part of me still loves Clauderry. When I first saw Terry in season 4, I thought that was why she was with him. It was to fill the void she felt during those two years. He made her laugh, she was happy with him. They had their cute little moments. But on the other hand, we could see that Claudia could be cruel: the fact that she told Soren that elves are evil, letting humanity suffer. There is some truth to it, but all the nasty things she says about elves when she’s dating an elf. And the fact that she follows Aaravos. It shows a hypocritical side, but it’s like saying, “I hate humans, but this one is different, so he gets a free pass.” That doesn’t make it any better.

The fact that Terry killed Ibis to save Claudia. You can sense that it’s weighing on him and he feels torn. But he ends up accepting it, saying that he’ll continue to feel it despite the difficulties. Or when Claudia deceives Rayla with stones and Terry tells her that he believes her actions are justified because she has her reasons. But what she did to Rayla was cruel. You could see that what he said to her didn’t leave her indifferent. So she gives Rayla the bag containing her family’s coins. Or when she’s about to kill the water dragon. Terry stops her and lets it go, not out of kindness, but because he understood that he had to fear her. Another scene with these two is when Claudia is separated from her father. Disoriented, Claudia says she is leaving him so she won’t feel abandoned. But Terry stays on the beach and does what he can to keep himself busy. Until Claudia returns to him, exhausted.

And the scene where he takes care of her is my favorite part of this ship. There is no dialogue. We just see Terry taking care of her, giving her a bath and cutting her hair. He even made her a prosthesis, and at first she tries to walk and struggles, but she succeeds and throws herself into Terry’s arms. And then she kisses him. This scene is so beautiful and romantic. This contrasts with the scene on the boat with Rayllum, where they share a romantic moment, but the tone changes when she learns that he has used dark magic, causing them to argue. Then Claudia asks him what she should do because she feels lost. But Terry doesn’t have the answers, telling her that it’s up to her to find her own truth. In this scene, I felt like I was seeing the Claudia from season 1 again, when she was cuddling a baby creature. But she is afraid to use dark magic again, as we saw with the baby cat or her mother. Terry intervenes to save her. Claudia then decides to return to Katolis to find her father. That way, she will find her truth!

Unfortunately, she will never find that truth because he died sacrificing himself to save the people of Katolis and his son. And here we see Aaravos taking advantage of the situation, saying that he understands her father and feels sympathy for him. This is probably true, but it’s a way of stirring up Claudia’s sympathy when she has just lost her father, as Terry points out. But through her story with Leola, she finds a way to use the spell to free Aaravos. Terry cries because, although he sees that Aaravos’ story is tragic, it has become something twisted. Because Aaravos’ story is understandable, but it doesn’t justify all the harm he caused, especially the destruction of Katolis and Lux Aurea. The people of Katolis and Lux Aurea were innocent in Leola’s death. And yet Aaravos punished them without any mercy.

In season 7, Terry wants to leave with Claudia now that Aaravos has been released. He thinks there’s no point in staying with him, either for his own good or Claudia’s. But the possibility that Viren might be in between makes Claudia want to stay with Aaravos. In the scene where we discover that Kpp'Ar practiced autophagy, she is disgusted, but Terry reassures her by saying that it’s not too late to change. Aaravos sees that Terry could set Claudia on the right path. Terry makes Claudia vulnerable, and the fact that Aaravos shows how he kills the mother bird and reveals that he and his girlfriend lied to him to get him to leave is too much for him.

So we might ask ourselves, why is he only reacting now? Why didn’t he leave Claudia long before? It’s simple: before, Claudia’s actions didn’t directly involve him. Sure, he killed Ibis, but that was more about himself, and he ended up coming to his own conclusion. This time, Claudia lied to him and is going to talk to him about it. He refuses to become someone unrecognizable, and Claudia is sad knowing what that could mean: a breakup. The scene is sad because, for me, Terry represented the humanity that Claudia had; he made her vulnerable. Even when she sees him again in the Moon Nexus, we understand that it’s over between them. And with Luna Devorans, I don’t think Claudia will show her humanity or even show the vulnerability she had with Terry. Will there be a different dynamic between these two? I don’t know.

Aaravos : I don’t say that often but my existence left indelible mark on humanity.
Callum : Oh ! No, you say it quite often and we remember, that is the worst part. Sometimes, I wish you fall into forgetfulness.
Aaravos : I’ll miss you too much for that.
Callum : In your dreams, yeah.
